It appears V1 production is the final item on the list, so I must assume that estimated consumer production is at least 15 months out under the best of circumstances.

Based upon the current SEC filing, is the proper conclusion that the completion of 100 pre-production vehicles in calendar '16 is no longer a goal?
That's a question you can legitimately ask Elio directly. Esp. if you are a shareholder.

Looks like they are now calling them V1 units

We are in the process of refining our production plans with suppliers to start production in 15 months. The key milestones for the 15-month schedule are as follows (with E1, S1 and V1 referring to various vehicle prototype phases):



$16.0 million, net proceeds at the close of the Regulation A offering


E1 Engineering drawing release


E1 Builds begin


E1 Testing


S1 Production drawing release & tooling kickoff


Order long lead equipment


Shreveport plant integration


Initial 10 retail locations selected


Retail lease agreements signed


Service partner agreements signed


S1 Builds and production validation


Initial 10 retail stores build out complete


EPA/CARB certification complete


Start of Production V1
The EPA / CARB certification comes immediately before opening the doors, because it requires a "normal production vehicle", preferably taken off the normal assembly line in the course of manufacturing, for the testing. So you can't do official testing on a prototype or E-1 vehicle -- but you can darn well do an unofficial version of the same tests, and let that guide your marketing and any remaining design tweaks.

Thanks for the info, but my question is concerning the original projected time frame of the 100 pre-production vehicles.

Iit's been 6 months since Elio announced a December '16 production date, and I was curious if the latest SEC filing confirmed this intention.

The latest SEC filing seems to offer little verification of Elio's intention to meet the projected December date.

as is too often the case, nobody here knows the answer .... we can what if, make guesses, get all worked up, not worry at all and have no clue .... this is the type of question that needs to be directly asked of EM and hopefully what they can can then be reported back to this forum

I focus on the quarterly SEC filings, they offer the largest dose of transparency!

so long as they conform to the appropriate regs/laws, those filings offer a picture that EM's lawyers allow them to release .... that may or may not accurately present the whole picture

Every piece of information is useful, but the context surrounding each one must be carefully considered when trying to fit the pieces together into the bigger picture. On top of that, each of us have a different set of pieces to build from, so the resulting picture may not look the same person to person. The key to resolving those differences is finding out how others are looking at things, identifying what pieces each party is missing and then working together to assemble everything into a more complete picture than any one individual could achieve alone.

Hmmm. What a coincidence.
Sounds a lot like what happens when people engineer and bring a new vehicle into production.

Certainly the SEC filings require more information than EM would otherwise release and share with the general public..........so it's an accurate bigger picture...........perhaps not the whole picture..........but big.

The filings intentionally slant to the negative. But since the E cars aren't even 1/3 done, the testing cannot realistically be done before year end 2016. So obviously 100 cars are vaporware until 2016, and i am betting well into the second quarter at the earliest. IF they get the ATVM loan that can speed up some ... but net net, IMO, full production is a year away at best. Next year in Jerusalem, right?
