Yes, I did hear that Elio may not have a year model, but it will be titled as a 2016--required by DMV for the title.

No there doesn't. I have always liked it as just an Elio. Paul even said once in one of his interviews, that it will be called the Elio. My Elio's personal name, will be Zelio. My Camry's name is Jaymz. :-) Z

The reason DMV/MVD needs a model is that in the event of the theft of an Automobile the existing data bases will not allow you to enter the vehicle as stolen without filling in the model name.No there doesn't. We will have to see what plays out. There is no reason EM can't simply use Elio for both the make and model name on official documents. There is also no reason EM can't simply list the build year as the model year if they don't want to play the model year game.

An obvious choice would be the Elio "commuter". But that's not very sexy. The're putting i in front of everything these days, iPod, iPhone, i-whatever, so why not the Elio "iCar"? Apple might get upset over that though. You could go risque' and call it the Elio "Threesome", but that would offend somebody. Due to our state of perpetual political correctness perhaps it's safest just to call it the Elio "E900". E for Elio and 900 for the engine displacement.

Now that is an idea I can agree with. I believe it was Jim H who commented that the same vehicle registered overseas will always be registered by the build year rather than playing the model year game. That makes a lot more sense to me. Besides, that means if my Elio is built in 2015, it will be my beloved 2015 Elio! :-) Z

What is it I heard? That the prototypes cost $150,000 to hand build and that was using borrowed parts from older vehicles. No thank you. I do not want a P anything. To each his own, but I want an Elio. When I talk to other people about it I tell them it is an Elio and it is built by Elio Motors. That works for me. But then, as always, I am totally biased and not the least bit humble in my opinion. :-) ZI really prefer to be referred as a Elio enthusiasts and why not just refer to the car as it started out as P3,P4, or P5.Or how about the Elio "Eco", or the Elio "P5 Eco"Whatcha thinko_O
