So a recap, the E1C is done, showing the soft tooling has been tested and a test-ready design is here. We're waiting now for some more E1's for crash testing and MPG testing to complete and the full 65k reservations to be counted up with some percentage of 'committed', all this folding up into the biggest objective, believe-able funding. The initial being perhaps the ATVM.

I would really-really like to know what is left to qualify for the ATVM. But I'm pretty sure no body knows the full list until it's already in the bag.
Let's make a pact, anyone wins the lotto, let's fund these guys. Likely, once 50% funding is reached the rest is easy.
Honestly, owning an ELIO will be the last thing in my mind if I win the lotto! Depending on the winnings, I'll buy me a Porsche 911 or the hybrid 918!:D I'm still one of the hopefuls that someday I can own a car I can afford, an ELIO for sub-10K. I missed the smell of a brand new car. :( Then last friday, my 1999 Toyota Corolla w/ 269K miles finally croaked on me and had to donate it. I'm now looking at a no nonsense, nothing fancy brand new Nissan Versa w/ 5 speed manual (just like my Toyota). Advertised for $7900. after discounts. No cd player, manual roll down windows, etc., exactly what I need, just a ride to and from where ever I want to go! If I wait before the year is over, I wouldn't have to haggle as much and I will get that advertised price. A/c, heat and 4 wheels included. Now if our ELIO can remotely be priced like that when all is said and done, I will be really impressed!

Don't think it's going to happen. It's been two years since Elio's ATVM loan app and no cigar. https://www.eliomotors.com/elio-motors-passes-first-review-phase-for-doe-atvm-loan/ Primary issue "• Be financially viable without the receipt of additional federal funding for the proposed project." It's right there in the ATVM requirements, Epic Fail!

Even with "most successful" and only Reg-A stock offering you could also equally say they are the "worst" Reg-A offering!- Elio is currenty the only show in this space. Show me where they are going to receive the additional $283 million beyond the initial stock offering to get to the stated $300 million for production? Think the 65k reservations? Think about it, even if all 65K, were non-refundable $1,000 reservations, which they are not at that level, that's only $455 million. Let's say half are at the $1,000 mark, you still lose, that's only $227 million. Not enough coin even to get started. Elio refuses to release any figures.... At $250k/year for his and four board members, since 2009, you paid for a handsome retirement. Just saying... Great Concept, Epic Fail in Delivery. It's a scam, vaporware, enrich the board- and it's all legal. Most of the Elio expenditures since public have been for legal.
2 years is nothing. We had applications for approval with another federal agency that didn't get acted on for nearly ten years. Different agency, yes, but the point is the federal government is an entirely different entity that operates under different rules, procedures, and considerations than the private sector. One learns to manage expectations. [In fairness to that other federal agency, it was severely understaffed and the staff it did have had an overwhelming caseload; I have the highest regards for them and their professionalism. This is not a political rant: Congress asks much of federal employees but often doesn't provide them with the means to do what's asked for on top of what they've been tasked with already.]

I would use up to half the after tax winnings to "Invest" in the Elio with 10% going toward the tithe which still leaves me with more than I could have imagined. If they need $400M, than the jack pot I win needs to come in at about $1.6B.

Now let's see...the odds of us winning the Powerball jackpot is now one in 292 million...so my best guess is...we have a much better chance of getting our ELIO in our lifetime! :D (It won't stop me from continuing to buy lotto tickets though...:D)

You make some valid points until this. You will have a very hard time convincing most people this is true outside of a knee-jerk reaction. They may very well fail. Like many start up companies. I can't imagine the red tape and funding it must take, especially for a "car" company. If it's a scam, they suck at scamming. They could have made so much more money had they not reinvested a lot of the money into engine development, Government lobbying, Multiple prototypes and now engineering cars. Fail - maybe, scam - never convince me of that.

OH! I see why the subject of lottery came up! $403m will get your attention!

Yes, if I win, I'll buy some Elio stock
I think I heard that after the Feds and the state get their take, you have only 35 or 40 percent left. Still I can't think of anything sensible and personal to do with over 5mil. When I was younger and more foolish, yea, all gone. But now really? Old movie and a good meal, I'm pretty happy. Of course, you know, I believe I need to be happy with my self after this life is over, too. Geazz, what do you do if you believe in Karma too?
At 35%, that's 141mil, -5mil = 136mil for investment. ok, ok, putting that joint out and going to bed now. ( seriously, I don't do drugs.. crazy enough with out it..)

If you take full payment up front, it's amounts to 55-60% of the total winnings. Of that 55-60% the Federal, state, county, and city taxes can amount from 30-50%

On average you only get around 35% of the total pot.

That's why the lottery is called the "Stupid Tax"
And most "Winners" find a way to blow through it in just a few years. I'd like to see if I could do better.
