I have a place down the street here that will do metal "car ports" for $675.00 what are you looking at for $1,000?
double wide. (18x20)

I think I priced it out with 10 foot center clearance or 2 foot extensions.

I just found this little nugget on the Elio Motors page (under "Retail Centers -> Delivery")
Elio Motors said:
Once you order, you’re going to want it in your hands as soon as humanly possible. How does 24 hours sound? That’s right. We’re talking clean and ready with all the extras – waiting at the Retail Center – within 24 hours* of your order.

* The Vehicle Wrap option does not apply to the 24 hour delivery.

Those are some good buys on the carports if you live in the right states. (free delivery and set up)
I've got two similar ones, (12X20) made by "PantherCreek" and they have held up great. Easy to put together. I got them from "Home Depot" in CA.
About the same price several years ago.

For the amount of work that's involved in doing a wrap (correctly) that's not surprising.
I called a couple of shops that do wraps, and sent them to the site to see an Elio, plus I sent them the dimensions.
I was quoted $2,700.00 from one shop, $2,100.00 from another.
They told me it would take 20 to 30 hours labor hours to do it; so the $1,400+ that EM is charging isn't a bad deal; and depending on how many the marshalling center has to do when they start rolling off the production line, a week for delivery wouldn't surprise me.

I've been attempting to edumicate myself on wraps. I can see some plusses. Mostly that you can do it yourself more easily than painting (no need to extensive masking, and other such...

It got me to thinking. Suppose I order a Elio with a wrap (green). What color is the painted car body? Green also? Primer only? Black?

This is an issue as one should change the wrap every couple of years. If one were to want to change wrap color would I have green paint peaking at the door jams on my nice new orange car?

That I can see, the configurator has no way to select paint color under you wrap.

I doubt if it's going to be primer; it will probably be whatever color they happen to have on hand that isn't already reserved/special order.
My best guess would be white.

Since the body panels are a composite, is a primer coat even necessary? Seems like panels destined to be wrapped could be left without primer or paint and be just fine. Might even save a little weight but for the size of the Elio that probably wouldn't add up to anything noticeable.
