We should not be even consider the Aptera next to the Elio.
The Aptera was planned with a range of about 100 miles / charge - pure electric.
The Elio is planned to give about 670 miles per 8 gal. tank of gas.
So we are at 100 miles vs. 670 miles.
We are 3 - 4 hour electric charge v. 5 minute gas fill up.
That shows an entirely different goal and target audience.
You should plan 8-10 minutes for a fill-up, until you remember which side of E the gas cap is!!

Oh No! Don't start the gas cap thing again!!!!

There will NEVER be resolution. But I suggest, that it could be an option!
I don't know the technical reasons, which have been discussed ad nauseam, but when they get into the European market (everything is always on the other side) that's when it should become available

What's your position on riders who choose to ride without helmets and sustain serious head injuries, who, when their usual medical coverages ( if they have any) expire, turn to medicare to sustain them for the rest of their lives ( residential care)?
Perhaps a helmet sign-off waiver- that should you "F" yourself up it won't be the rest of us to pick the tab ?
"Pack us in cotton" (read helmet laws) is, at times to protect you from yourself.
(Nice Healy BTW)

To that I say, what is your position on people doing recreational activities that break arms, legs, knees, cause concussions, etc. that leave them on disability and require medical assistance for the rest of their life? Add to this that many parents actively push their children into this lifetime of destruction and maiming activity. I know far more people with busted up bodies from sports activities than motorcyclists injured while riding.

I do wear a helmet but I'm glad it is by choice. I only wish that those that want to take away my right to do things look in their own backyard before they start judging and wanting to penalize me for the activities I choose to do.

Pro seat belts. Pro helmets. Pro vehicle safety.
Con requirements. Con mandates. Con people that don't act safely especially to the point that it effects me and my pocketbook.
I haven't figured out a way to eliminate government intrusion, yet 'force' people to be smart. In our society, there are, and need to be, laws to protect people from themselves, and that's a shame.
How's that for a non-answer?
I like the idea of an insurance company saying, "yes, we'll insure you, but if you have an accident and are not wearing a seat belt, you are not covered." The problem with that, is then the onus is under the un/under insured motorist clauses and that is back to effecting MY premiums.
I don't know. I can't figure it all out..

Actually I don't like that the insurance company might revoke your insurance on a whim. If your contract with them states that you must wear a seat belt that is one thing but if it is implied instead of explicitly spelled out and made known to the insured in something other than thousand of words in very fine print it feels more like a breach of a promise than anything.

Insurance companies are running the scam now of getting people to put black boxes in your car for lower prices. Sure, seems like easy money but the reality is they now have more capability to skip out on their commitment by harvesting data from the black box.

Insurance companies are bookies that do the numbers so they are going to win the bet. But they aren't comfortable with that so they will find ways to renig on the bet if they have to pay out. Much of the regulation in the insurance industry is about protecting consumers. That regulation wouldn't be there if it wasn't needed. Don't give the insurance companies any more ammunition to screw you.
