I can't really put a number 'cause my optimism and my pessimism can never find an equalibrium, But I've NEVER rooted for a corporation before and here I am REALLY hoping this thing gets off the ground and is a huge success. I think this is the biggest idea in transportation since the model T, andthe world IS waiting for exactly this vehicle, whether they know it yet or not.

Happy 4th of July. I am all in today$. Love the concept of this car and want to support making this happen. Not sure where I will be on the list as it is probably north of 5000 by now based on the numbers indicated by board members. I am about a 4-5 on the likelihood this will come to pass as they seem undercapitalized (my guess as an accountant). I am counting on a third of the people in line in front of me to crap out and buy something else out of need or frustration as evidenced by the negativity on this thread. Love the looks of this car but it will not replace the 1998 Crown Vic I drive today and will keep. It will be a toy and I am sure it will be 10K plus OTD even with a MT (for me anyway). The key to its success will be aftermarket participation in options...My wife will tolerate me buying but she will not likely never ride in it or drive it - or so she says! Nor will my kids. Of course they will be wrong and they will recant! I will check in from time to time but will not participate in the hand wringing a watching the pot boiling mentailty here. People all in have to be prepared for the possibility that they will lose at least some of their deposit for the opportunity. Keep the faith and roll with Paul!

Hey CJ, Welcome to our merry little group.....therapy sessions. I love your attitude! I think your family will "come around" too. Once they see it. :)

Hand wringing and pot watching.... my, my, my.. Is that your counter point to the 'negativity' here? I think I would describe it more as excited anticipation. I see it more like kids waiting for Christmas speculating about what's under the tree, but maybe that's just my rose-colored computer monitor fooling me again.

As far as funding goes, I really belive that if EM can produce a market-ready, mass-producable prototype that hits the specs and looks decent there will be plenty of funding available for it. $200 million is not all that much these days. They just need a solid proof of concept, they can already show that the market is there with huge expansion potential. Heck, if they sold stock I'd buy some in a flat second.

I am hoping that EM can demonstrate a proof of concept to funding in a way that they can gain momentum while still avoiding being bought out or bringing direct competition from mainline automakers. I wanted in before the big west coast shows started playing out. And well it seemed fitting to declare independence from the same old guys on independence day. Keep the faith! :D

Not a corporation. Just a guy with an idea and team trying to make a car.

For a minute there Zelio, I thought you were going to trade your Creamcicle for Mango.
Interesting side note about the ELF discussed earlier in this thread. My younger son was definitely interested in it when I told him about it. He actually went looking for it in the Seattle area but learned that an electric bicycle/tricycle with a seat requires a drivers license in Washtingon. Only electric bikes with saddles do not. Since he has no desire to get a driver's license he bought himself an electric bike last Sunday and rode it home from work for the first time on Monday. He has a one way 20 mile commute in the Lynnwood, WA (Seattle) area with lots of hills. He also rode it round trip on Thursday but said it was too hot to ride on Tuesday or Wednesday. His legs and butt are sort of OK. LOL The bike trip took him about the same amount of time as his bus trip including time to change clothes and get his bike from the room reserved for that purpose at the Oracle office. Of course many of you mc riders have commented on how much you look forward to the weather advantages of the Elio. To me getting a driver's license would have been worth the trouble for the same benefits or at least similar ones with the ELF. But then I don't live my son's life and he doesn't live mine. LOL :) Z

mine is still in the bag too. who knows 50 yrs from now it may be a collectors item.. great for the great-grand kids..
I tried mine on, and found that the sizes run a little small. I normally wear a large, and found it fit like a medium. Just a little FYI for those who haven't ordered yet.
