This reminds me of my early days with my 401k and IRAs, I would follow each account daily and be emotionally tied to the ups and downs of the market. Today, I learned to trust my initial selections and only look at the end of year statements and be content that I made some money the past year. Yes, I can make more money if I micro manage all accounts constantly but I probably die from mental and emotional exhaustion and won't get to enjoy spending any of it.
I look at the whole Elio process the same way. I had followed Elio for well over a year and researched as much as possible on anything and anyone has to do with this project. Finally my faith in the probability of this projects success was at a 9, I put down my deposit (I will add 1 when I get my keys). Good news or bad news are all part of the process, nothing short of an announcement from Paul himself that EM is going to fold or the first production Elio comes off the line will change where I stand.

Wow, after almost 7 years, it is going to probably come down to Obamas guys making a life or death decision about elio motors..
Thank god, Obama wants high mpg vehicles, cause if the other side had its way, big oil and them would make anything over 30mpg taxable to the highest level.

BMW has had many three wheeler concepts along with it's current BMW iL which is in a class of it's own.

BMW made a 3 wheeler in the 50's-60s as well called the Isetta.

They are toying with a 4 wheel low cost retro version Isetta now, but likely won't happen, no margin in that business, google it, its a very cool concept shown at various events.

That's a smart outlook! I felt the same and then started to get a little agitated by the negative speculation. Which is the goal of those posters. I'm back to ignoring all the BS and just looking to Elio for official progress updates.
Thanks for the post! Most future Elio owners should simply wait to put any money down until they see production Elio's in the Elio Stores.........too stressful.

You can't anywhere draw the same comparison with Elio against your retirement investments. Your invested money is likely balanced, in case of the worst.

If you want a fair comparison, Tesla is public, with FAR better leadership, and easily 50 steps ahead of an EM, and funded beyond belief, yet would you invest in Tesla given the huge risk that Tesla may NEVER make a dime of profit??

Some of us believe enough to put our money where our hearts are. I'm proud to say I have invested in the future of Elio. Like the stock market my greatest hope is that it was a good investment but recognize there is no guarantee. I am an optomist so I have no problem worrying my "investment" when I go to sleep at night.

I had forgotten about the Isetta. Cool little car. I suspect BMW is satisfied with their Mini in the small car market.
I could see BMW back in with a three wheeler.........someday.......hopefully a tilter.

Remember, the P4 is not the elio, it is a concept car..you bought a number not a vehicle, we do not know what the final P????? will look like. In order to get the money from the government, EM has to build some thing road ready damn quick..by what , October at the latest. The P????has to shown driving around the town, around the track, etc. On, and it has to be finished, everything on it and ready to sell. Good luck..the feds aren't going to give EM the money for a loud cobbled together, only one window works, no horn, ect.
No sleep till December if you're working for Elio Motors, a car, er. motor cycle, er, ah, flip a coin and see what happens vehicle.
What if they don't get the money, then what.?
