Wow got my $100 dollar shirt & bumper sticker today and last night read all 29 pages of this fender thread.....Doing all that makes me all in because today I slept all day!

I'll take my Eilo anyway I can get it because last year I pretty much gave up driving and also gave up any hope I'd ever be able to afford another vehicle, then along came Elio.

Till now, I'd like to think I've lived my life in the fast lane so the way I look at is....By the time this vehicle rolls of the assembly line I'll either be 64 or buried by then so just getting to see it sitting in my driveway will be good enough for me.

Hi and welcome from Oregon. Like you, the Elio is my hope for the future. I fully intend to be alive when I get it and I also intend to drive it. In the mean time I am saving a little every month so my down payment is increased by the time it is time to take delivery. It is very exciting to realize I will have a fun car to drive again. My Camry is very reliable and an excellent car but there is nothing that says fun about it. There are many more very long threads on here and I hope they give you as much pleasure as they give us. Enjoy the journey as we explore new territory in the production and ownership of our Elios. :-) Z

This forum is sort of like winter league baseball; it gives us all a creative outlet and something to do until the real season begins. Hang in there Ron, there are plenty of us here who have successfully outlived our promised "threescore and ten". . . the downside of which is that we're now out of warranty. ;)

Just wanted to thank you all for the warm welcome here on the fender thread and on the forum in whole....I've been reading for while now and only began posting first on this thread

Having owned and operated more then 200 forums and groups online don't have a lot of time for posting but do try to read as many threads as possible looking for the high court ones to read first because if the thread has a high number count then something up on that thread.

First one here on this forum that made for some good reading was one called: Anyone Else Starting To Think It Won't Happen?...Now that was a hot one!

Just posted to another on pulling trailers with the Elio...Yes looks like I've got a lot of reading to do while waiting for my new ride....thanks again all for your warm welcome messages.

So with the older style fenders, or even the new style, if I turn the wheels and excellerate on gravel, am I going to trash the paint?
Granted, not a huge engine, but stones can still pick up.
Also, when driving in the winter, snow builds up in the wheel wells of my cars. These look like they could really pack the snow in there and be nigh impossible to clear out.

Thoughts?

I would really rather see the wheels, so I was thinking...it looks like you could remove the black skirt and possibly swap the fenders from side to side.

Could even trim them into a different shape.
