That bonus ending is what made me go "All In." I don't begrudge it however, I wanted the best deal I could get and it was what pushed me "All In..." I still am rooting for Elio.
You and many others. I'm assuming 1k won't break you, but for some low income person who is depending on this little high milage, low cost, vehicle, probably took a loan to not lose out on the bonus. Based on the stuff Elio was shoveling, I like most, was pretty certain this thing was going to happen. Now, not so much. Still, just my opinion.

Elio does not force anything upon you or me and neither does Elio Motors refuse to offer anything. Elio is under no obligation to listen to your all caps missives. You did not put down a deposit for specific design features.

If you like outdated technology, that is fine, but don't expect that the Elio will be designed around your wishes. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Messerschmidt Kabinenroller, but I wouldn't hold them up as examples for contemporary automotive design when it comes to the controls, as much fun as they may be. And who ever said that the SkyzMatic [sp?] option will be $2,000?
Hey ilio,
Attack the message, not the messenger. IF THE MAN WANTS TO TYPE IN CAPS, HE CAN.

YES THEY ARE .
THEY HAVE STATED SPECIFICALLY THAT THE ELGIN DASH WILL BE IN THE CARS
AND CONVENTIONAL GAUGES WITH NEEDLES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE .

PAUL HAS ANSWERED THAT QUESTION SPECIFICALLY .
SORRY YOU WERE NOT PAYING ATTENTION .

IT WOULD BE REALLY GREAT IF YOU CAN CONTRADICT THAT STATEMENT !
I ENCOURAGE YOU TO QUIT COMPLAINING ABOUT MY TYPING AND GET TO WORK ON THAT .

"MY WISHES" HAVE BEEN REFLECTED BY TWO POLLS HERE , ONE BY EMOA AND ONE DONE BY DONE BY ELIO .
WHY DO YOU THINK THAT ELIO SHOULD BE DEAF TO THEIR CUSTOMER's WISHES ?

I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO BUILD WHAT PEOPLE WANT .
I HAVE 4 RESERVATIONS , DO I GET 4 VOTES ?

THE COST OF THE INFINITE SKYZ OPTION WAS ESTIMATED TO BE $1500 - $2000

My mom does that in emails for some reason [all caps]. She just thinks it's easier than using the shift-key. All caps, all the time is one thing. People throwing them in there to emphasize their anger about something, is quite a different thing.

Some older folks, which I am one, didn't grow up with computers, and only learned to type in their later years. Some like the big type because of vision problems. Whatever the reason, this isn't Facebook, and we don't need to resort to bullying. Again, just my opinion.

When I went all in, I did so, because I can afford to lose the 1k, and it was explained clearly in the agreement.

What first pissed me off was when Elio announced they were no longer seeking funding, and were going to stop the 50% bonus program. It is my belief, that forced a bunch of $100 reservation holders, that probably don't have an extra 1k to gamble, to try to come up with the money to not lose the bonus. If Elio had been honest and admitted they did not in fact, have the funding, most people could have made their choice to gamble money they may or may not have, based on fact, and not deception. Once they were sucked in, Elio brought back the bonus, supposedly because it was the " right thing to do". The deception would have continued way beyond that point if Paul did not have to explain to Caddo Parrish how he couldn't meet the hiring deadline and needed a six month extension to raise funds. That was the end of the Ra Ra cheerleader part of it for me. Now it's just, hope for the best, expect the worst, and take what you get. Instead of just producing a box with an Elgin dash on request at the showings, why not put it in the prototype, and let people make an honest decision with their reservation dollars?
Eddie, I liked to, and still would like to, think the best of all that. But you've made me wonder.
All this time, I had figured that Paul and EM got blind-sided by an investor's last minute pull-out.
An explanation for no explanation being given could have been a non-disclosure contract.

Now I'm having to think about it in the harsh light of your theory.
It wouldn't have made sense to make that announcement and roll back the rebate before the ink was on the paper.
There are some heavy hitters on the board that absolutely woulda-shoulda known better even if PE didn't.
Unless, of course, the majority of those people amount to little more than highly paid PR name plaques.
If it was an honest mistake it certainly was an absurdly amateurish one.

So I guess it comes down to either someone really dropped all the balls...
Or you're right and I've got to throw my rose colored glasses in the recycling bin.
The red pill or the blue pill. You know both choices suck. Right?

I AM TRYING TO DO A FEW NEW THINGS WITH THIS CAR .

THIS IS THE FIRST TIGER MADE WITH A TILTING TAIL .
THE ORIGINALS HAD REMOVABLE TAIL THAT TOOK 2 PEOPLE TO REMOVE !

UNDER THE BONNET IS A LOT OF PACKAGE ENGINEERING .
I AM NOWHERE NEAR DONE WITH THIS .
I AM WORKING ON THE EXHAUST THIS WEEKEND .
I STILL HAVE TO BUILD THE SHIFTER LINKAGE ,
PLUMB THE BRAKES & DO ALL THE WIRING .

ONCE I GET IT TOGETHER , IT WILL COME ALL APART AGAIN FOR THE PAINT .

I DEVELOPED MY OWN COOLING SYSTEM THAT USES TWO FANS TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL SINGLE .
THEY BLOW OUT THROUGH EACH WHEEL OPENING AND THE BELT ARRANGEMENT IS
MUCH SIMPLER THAN HONDA's AROUND THE CORNER SETUP . IT BLOWS 30% MORE AIR .

THIS WILL BE A FUN MACHINE WHILE MY ELIO WILL BE THE DAILY DRIVER .

Be careful not to hit Paul's cracked crystal ball when you throw those glasses in the recycle bin.

Looking good. You must have a heck of a garage with all those toys, and four Elios on reserve. Please keep us updated on your project.
