I had no idea the hood was secured this way. I figured it would have a release inside the interior, and a safety latch just like cars have. The way they have it now seems like a royal PITA...I hope they change their minds and put a normal hood release on it...
You can always modify it after you bring it home.
I want keyless on everything and use an RFID fob.
As for someone needing to get under the hood, you'll have a valet mode for them.

I think they should make the "normal" hood release an option.

I'm looking at NSTG8R image above yours and not understanding how it opens with just that small piece of chrome showing?

The 'pointed' chrome piece (hood pin) is attached to the body and goes through a hole in the hood (actually two holes, one on each side). The clip attaches to a groove in the hood pin to keep the hood from lifting.
