Of course wheaters has another reason. He lives in Great Britain and therefore can't import an Elio at this point even if it was being produced. :-) Z

Thanks for the update Z, but my post here was meant to go way beyond Wheaters.
The intended targets are those who constantly wallow in negativity. EM's doing this wrong, that's wrong, production won't happen, It'll never fly, it's screwed up, it's going to fail, the sky is falling etc. You know the type. Someone is always going wee in their cheerios. I just get a bit testy with trolls who waste everyone's time.

You, Goofyone, Joshua, JimH, MikeW, Truett, Jeff and a host of others are constantly trying to maintain a positive forum here for those of us who believe,

Elio will happen. The exact dates are immaterial, the exact design is a target not a promise. The point is that Paul Elio is doing something few have tried and we have a front row seat. Sit back and have fun, enjoy the ride, share some giggles with our new found friends, share ideas for use when comes time for us pick options on our Elios. But above all stay positive and excited, history is being made here!! :D:);):D

Amen, CompTrex, I have no doubt that there has been a lot of  in the think tank over posts here. :D
Speaking of the "Think Tank", I know the engineering facility for top secret aircraft is called the Skunk Works. We should come up with a name for Elio's engineering team/facility. After all, what else do we have to do for the next year or so?:)

It actually gets quite entertaining now and then doesn't it?

It does. I think that those that pose opposing view points are expressing their concerns and frustrations but just can't let go of them. They may have even become overwhelmed by them, maybe they did the $1k all in without being able to truly afford it and the thought of the possibility of losing it has shaded their comments. Or they may just be this obstreperous all the time. True, it is entertaining but sometimes it just frosts my cookies.

All we can do is smile, have a beer to calm down and go on about our way, secure in the knowledge that we will be driving our dream one day.

Hmm, maybe in honor of those that present challenges that are doing it purely for the "H E double hockey sticks" of it (no legitimate basis for their opposition) maybe something like Troll Plant or Troll Factory.

No trolling intended. There was a thread about naming the model of the Elio that was very entertaining, and many of the members had a lot fun with. Thought this might be fun as well. That's all.

One of the nice things about this forum is that questions come up that the public are 'chilled' about. One of the nicest things about this forum is we toss out (to them) reasonable and reliable answers. This is a huge benefit to the public (and to our membership) and to EM in general. 'We' aren't just 'us' in that sense.

If we didn't have a little nay-saying going on, we'd not have answers to those difficult questions. When those questions match a detailed google search it often zero's right in on our answer.

But like everyone else I kind of react to any accusatory statements that have unfounded assumptions. I just keep in mind the world reads these things and a calm, logical and informative answer is usually the one that casual readers adopt for themselves.

Any angst, accusations and bickering usually clouds the dialog all up, giving a high signal to noise level.

I do understand this is 'our' space and we don't want to live in a compromised environment. But a little spice in the salad isn't always bad.

To put the record straight, I'm as positive about the Elio as anyone else here, in fact I don't recall making any negative comment and don't see why anyone here should think I'm getting in the way. In fact, I'm more than a little offended by the above response.

But as Zelio pointed out, because she has read all my previous posts on this forum, it may be impossible to register the vehicle in UK. So, I'd be a fool to put $1000 down on one as a non-refundable deposit.

If the problem of UK registration can be overcome, and the price is worthwhile (shipping, import taxes, VAT on top of the USA price all need to be considered), then I'd put the whole lot down!
