I probably erred in my original comment. Should have been fit, finish, and function.
It may not have everything that the final production model will have.
?? Are you saying that you don't think the P5 will have all the features of the production model? I'd heard about the tires probably being different, but was hoping that everything else would be just like what will come out of the factory. What else do you think will be different?

The whole idea behind the final P5 Build is to build a production model prototype followed up by the E's for testing.

It might still have the adjustable coil over shocks.
It might not have the correct tires.
It might or might not have a stability control. (remember what happened to the slingshot when theirs was turned off)
It may just be little minor things.

It might be a totally complete production ready P5 and might be completed on time for the LA Auto Show. My speculation and I'm sticken with it. Production Cooper tires might be optional.

Greetings Ty:
Are you trying to make me feel better about waiting all this time? I and anyone else with a low number should be there the second day then. lol. Maybe when the time comes, we can all go and come together. Who else in NM and proximity has a low number (close to mine)? Anyone want to get together for a cup next trip to Albuquerque?

>It might not have the correct tires.

This is of course a bit complex. It will have suitable production tires, that are however, expected to be upgraded to the specially developed tires once some are produced. When that happens the wheel covers will be matched to the tires. Until the new tires show up they will go with what you'll see at the LA show.

The tire manufacturer has some criteria that they want to see Elio Motors meet before they will complete the tooling. But apparently this requirement will be well enough in advance of production to meet the production requirements. It could be they just want to see the P5 finished and funding received for the E1-25, but who knows?

Why have these special tires? Even better MPGs than what they have now. Both are 135's.

They're going to want the best tires possible (and preferably production tires) for official testing for ATVM app completion.

I'm sure they would. But they only have to meet the 75mpg requirement. And I don't think that component upgrades are restricted. So probably that's not a worry.
