They're in the intake manifold too. Perhaps these are just for testing purposes?

I'm not sure on the intake, but on the exhaust they're probably temp and/or O2 sensors. Having a set per cylinder can help troubleshoot in testing.

I just took another look. Those are definitely thermocouples on both intake and exhaust.

Agreed. Hard lines aren't typical of O2 sensors so those must be for temperature.

Isn't this the same engine on the test stand?
How many engines have they built?
