Did Harley provide that information when they went from the "Pan Head" to the "Shovel Head", or from the "Shovel Head" to the "Evolution"?
Elio told us indirectly (the tour poster) the HP number was 55 rather than the planned 50.
Inquiring minds want to know...... even if we have no right to the information.

It's possible Ford & Harley would have told their reservation holders had they asked.

You can not compare Ford and ELIO in anyway. I did not invest time and faith along with $1000 dollars in a Ford dream. Ford never invited me along in their dream ELIO did.
ELIO wants to be different . They need to act different you can not have it both ways. The engine and it's progress are number one right now in it future .
It will play a big role in investment.
The Fords I own already had engines. Pretty good ones also.

Has it run out of gas yet
Do the numbers reach what was expect
Have you started to refine the MAP yet from the base you used to start it up
Any vibration not with in normal range.
Any leaks
Come on ELIO we want to know, in this case no news is bad news

want to know and have a right to know are two very different things .... I'd love to know the answer to those and other questions but I haven't seen anything in what I've signed that says I have a right to know them .... as with every aspect of this project, the rights fall in their ballpark .... they will release whatever info they want at the rate they want .... for me, without having any control over it whatsoever, I don't feel its worth my time to worry about it

You forget ELIO has marketed it's self as being different. If it wants to be different than it needs to act different.
You may not be thinking of placing a reservation for another one or two as I am. Have a Granddaughter and daughter that could put the ELIO to good use.

never said you claimed anything ... I was speaking for me (as you are speaking for you) in that I agree at having a desire to know much more and that since I have no right to any such info, I choose to not worry about it .... but that's just me

If you want to ask a real serious question, ask if they have started casting the next 20(?) blocks.
Vibrations may tell us two different things........

1. needs better damping in the motor mounts
or
2. total disaster​

As I recall, they have already told us they aren't going to test #1 to destruction.
By inference (the sign) they have told us they are getting 55 HP as compared to anticipated 50 HP.
Re MAP is an ongoing process. You or I might go for max HP or torque. I'm sure Elio is going for MPG.

Keeping in mind that 49 City / 84 Hwy are the holy grail for Elio.​

What kind?
Remember a friend that a couple uf us were road racing with in Rochester, NY back in the 60s.
He was in an MGB, Me, a 67 Camaro, the other guy a 65 Vette.
Guy in the MGB had a casting defect between the oil passage and the water jacket that he found out about that night.
The cop that was chasing didn't give him a ticket. Just laughed at him and asked what kind of idiot would race a Vette and a Camaro in an MGB. (And that was a well known and tested block.)​

Incidentally,have you looked carefully at the readouts on the running demo. I'm still not 100% certain what the number next to the Tach was showing.
Like many, I would like the Geo ripped out of P4 and the real drive train put in so we can stop hearing about 170K on the odometer, loud exhaust, and governed at 35MPH. (Yes, that would mean putting in the Elgin dash.)
What is more important? Getting the job done or giving us a blow by blow description?
