The last time I asked about this, in Charlotte, I was told that EM had reached out informally and the response from the casinos had been very positive. We will have to see what exactly plays out when we are closer to production however I have no doubt the local casinos would be very happy to welcome a steady stream of happy new Elio owners.
I wonder how many thrift-conscious Elioites would be big spenders at the tables?

Keep in mind that the Shreveport pickup plan is really being put in place for reservation holders. We know reservation holders tend to skew older and more affluent which also happens to match up well with the casino demographic plus reservation holders are much more interested in visiting Shreveport than retail buyers with no connection to the EM brand will be.

It can be confusing at times however when discussing EM it really does help to keep in mind that sales and production will be happening in two distinct phases each with different customer demographics and different ordering and distribution processes. Reservations and retail sales are really two different ways of conduction business for EM.

EM sells reservations targeting demographics most likely to accept the risk involved and will then ask that these orders be completed 2-3 months in advance of production before producing and installing options only in Shreveport. Delivery options for these orders will be pickup in Shreveport, grouped deliveries to central locations throughout the country, or direct delivery and each one of these options will likely have a different cost.

Once EM is ready for retail sales their marketing will undoubtedly change to target several different demographics such as buyers on tight budgets, '&' car buyers, environmentally conscious buyers, parents of younger drivers in high school and college, RV owners, and whatever other groups EM decides to target. These buyers will either purchase their vehicles online or visit an EM retail center. These buyers will be able to choose their vehicle options and then EM's nationwide distribution network will complete this custom ordered vehicle as soon as possible with next day being an option for many buyers. These vehicles will then be delivered to a chosen retail store or for an added fee directly to the buyer. Delivery in Shreveport with a plant tour will also likely be an option for retail buyers however a much lower percentage of retail buyers will be interested in this option than reservation buyers.
