That's the way I look at the Elio, as well. It is the great equalizer. The Elio Equalizer, bringing the spirit of the Model T back to the masses but with six more color choices!
I'm looking forward to the time the complaints are all about having to wait for mine...? Well, waiting while others are getting theirs.

I thought I had kept track of the Corbin series when it was struggling to hatch; I don't remember anything about the Raven. It was to be an ICE, not electric?

And personally, I think that model provides just the right amount of personal styling the car needs.

Corbin based his Raven design on the same principle as his Sparrow EV, but this time powered by a small three-cylinder gas engine he estimated should get better than 100 miles per gallon and should sell for less than $12,000. That was back in 2007. Perhaps that's how Paul Elio came up with the similar idea in 2008.

I'm stuck in explosive growth mindset. Why one would grow and the other be too expensive.

My response is not about the design other than the original post about the scissor door and that was a wrong impression based on a poor angle on the original photo.

I guess I'm looking at Elio as the next Model T or Beetle.
I like Corbin's door, but doubt the hinge works on the Elio, but if it did and added cost, would leave it on the shelf. I'm not proposing any changes to the Elio.......even though there is a what would you change on the Elio forum. It's Elio's Elio, he can do whatever he wants. I even agree with his decision on the Elgin dash.

I see the Elio as a configurable platform that in it's basic form can be a fine commuter, but is adaptable in the hands of its owner over time. The Model T was similar, as were several of its rivals. Back in the teens and twenties many customers bought what was called a "chassis-cowl", a frame, engine, running gear, and radiator - complete with hood and cowling that could be turned into practically anything, from farm truck to "hotrod".

After high school, my Dad and Uncle built one up on a '26 Chevy chassis to make a trip from Hays, KS to San Francisco and back - serving as transportation, home, and shelter over a 10 week trip.

Note, fenders were optional . . . one of those times you come to deeply regret not spending the money for while ducking flying clods of mud as you drove unpaved "roads". I kinda like the classy riding boots and Jodhpurs . . . Dad even wore a TIE. In those days you dressed for adventure.

In the end, your Elio can be ordered in much the same way, from bare bones to loaded, with (thanks to PE's commitment to individual options rather than packages) almost everything in between. Then there's going to be an immense aftermarket that will allow owners to build (and change) whatever they want. It's going to be fun!

I was put on Percocet last year, when I had Shingles. The pain was bad, but after just a week I started experiencing withdrawl symtoms everytime I went more than four hours without a pill. UGH. Never gonna do that again! The Oxy they gave me for my wisdom tooth removal was nearly as bad.
Next time I'm in pain like that, I think I'll ask my doctor if Weed is right for me. I hate the idea of smoking anything, and marijuana in particular, but ANYTHING is better than having to take opioids again!

I think they should look into some kind of test that could determine if a person was at greater risk of addiction than is normal. I had vicodin after back surgery and I got no high or buzz. I had no withdrawal symptoms and no desire to take the meds unless I was in pain. There may be some people who are suffering needlessly because they are scared of problems associated with the meds. Just a thought Larry
