Does this mean there will be only one wiring harness for all Elio's so as to accommodate for any electrical options?

I do remember information being mentioned on this forum, that there would be electrical plugs every few inches, such that many options can be easily accommodated. But again, that's just on my memory and this was mentioned many moon ago. Will it be easy to request too many options such that the electrical system can't handle them all? Unknown.

With this whole customization that's going on, do you think that we would be able to adjust how the door opens? I would like to see if I could get the door to be either a butterfly or gullwing opening. Then, maybe add a passenger door on the other side so they don't have to climb over the drivers seat.

I doubt Elio's level of available customization will go that far. It sounds like they are just making it so that you can get individual options instead of bundles. Say with some cars if you want cruise control you would need to order a "tech package" which also comes with navigation and glove compartment weasels. But with the Elio, you can order just the cruise control and the weasels without the nav.

I posted this in another thread: "I would love something unconventional on the Elio, like a sliding canopy or gull wing door. I am tempted to go with a Lambo style door kit since it should be possible without major changes. I know they are cheesy and played out, but whenever I see a beat up Civic with them the 10 year old in me still stops and goes "whoa, cool!"

It is that same inner 10 year old that wants an Elio instead of a minivan, so I trust his judgement."

The single door was a weight saving decision.
I like the idea of the swivel seat; I'll have to go find the base and seat track from an older Monte and adapt it to work in the Elio.
I would like to see someone come out with a temporary "hold open" lock on the door; so if you're on a hill, or you need some help getting out you'd have a way to lock in the door open, put a grab handle on it and pull yourself out. (Hey Dragon, this is what getting old does for you, so now you have more to look forward to :crutch:) :becky:

Haha I can tell you have some experience, and at 22, I know how you feel. I was in a Motorcycle accident back in October. Dumb driver cut me off and hit the breaks when I was going 90 lol. Needless to say, I know what it feels like having to hold onto something to help you stand up. I wonder which door opening would be the best with the open door hinge lock? I'm thinking either the butterfly, or gull wings would work best as they open up, and to the front. I'm not sure how difficult it would be having to stand with those however.

We all have an inner child in us! It's just a matter of who lets them out more. There is a phrase that I like "You are only as old as you feel" and so saying that you are "old" is only in the eyes of the beholder. I myself plan to be more and more active.
