Need countermeasures for the rear.

Upon detection of a rearward approaching vehicle and the system determines a rear end event is going to occur a giant airbag with shaped explosive charges deploys, then detonates which shreds the approaching vehicle into fingernail sized pieces, thereby protecting the ELIO.

Actually such would foster people to get OFF the phone, to stop people that are texting while driving PERMANENTLY so it would make the world a safer place.

Couple of such events get on the news and people would RESPECT those little ELIO things..

Problem with that is colaterial damage.
Using active counter measures would remove those drivers from the road permanently. :-)...

I had a thought the other day of something that could be interesting. What if you could order your Elio with a different color for the fenders than the body? It would be an easy option for them to offer since they already will have different colored fenders. This would add a lot of options for personalization. The marshaling centers would just need to have a few extra sets of standard fenders.

I would love to have y#@&& fenders to go with my blue Elio. Those are the colors of my college team. It would be great when I'm tailgating at the football games. If they don't do it at tne factory, I'll just paint them myself?
