Gee Mr. Muzhik, are you the elder that speaks of floppies? (Konica Minolta commercial)

Floppies were the new fangled thing. Paper tape, punch cards, reel to reel tapes, and wash tub disk drives you could walk around the computer center is what elders dream of, or perhaps they are just the things of our nightmares.

So say we don't add any extras at the original time of purchase but decide some time later down the road we want to, you think Elio will let us bring the car in to have whatever we want added installed? If so, hopefully it wont be any more expensive than if we just purchased the extras when the vehicle was new.

Having worked in IT all my adult life, I am more than familiar with "feature creep". "Better" is the enemy of "good enough".

I'm just amazed at the number of things that are now considered to be "standard equipment". I remember when an FM stereo was an option you paid extra for. I remember when there were some models you couldn't even get air conditioning as an option, because they didn't design the layout for the extra parts.

(spoken in an old, quivery voice) Why, you young hooligans! I remember when you had to pay extra for an ENGINE! Cars were powered by gerbils in those days. Gerbils in cages!
I remember people thought you were poor if you had hand crank windows, vinyl interior and rubber floor mats!

Entry took a key, and sometimes the key that opened the door lock was different than the key to start the motor. And to start the motor you had to get violent and choke it!

So far, anything but a trailer hitch might be possible. (Voids the warrantee)

My ex's car has hand-crank windows. Her best friend's kids were thrilled! "How cool is that! You can roll the windows down without having to turn on the car first!"

My 1999 Chevy S10 pickup had hand crank windows; power door locks because I put them in.
Didn't matter to me, I usually don't roll the windows down more than cracking them open to let smoke out.
