I agree wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, my wife went to the dealership without me...
Wow! Had that happened to me my statement would have stated, "unfortunately, my ex-wife went to the dealership without me." Neither of us make a big financial decision without the others approval.

Wow is right! Something along these lines is part of the reason why I have an ex-wife.

:):D Believe it or not, my daughter is getting his course now. She is in the eleventh grade, came home one day and told us things she learned from Dave over supper. :)
Awesome! Your daughter will be better off because of it. His personal financial stuff is great, but I absolutely love the Entreleadership material.

I agree with you guys all about the ex-wife thing.....I listen to Ramsey every once in a blue moon. One thing I don't like about his stuff is there is no middle ground. The main reason is he has to take a stance one way since he has lots of listeners.

Although he covers different things, I prefer Clark Howard. His stuff is more bare bones like cheap flights across america, best cell service and cheapest roth IRA.

Dave Ramsey's concept is simple. Live below your means and don't be a dumbass (aka don't take on much debt. you don't need a brand new car or $500 phone). To me it all just seemed like common sense, but I came from a home where my parents were horrible with money so I was learning what not to do.

I have the same thoughts about Dave Ramsey. I agree with a lot of what he says and think most of it should be common sense but I am not that extreme in my life as I do believe that moderation in everything I do keeps me a happy and well rounded person. I try to be smart with money and take advantage to save money when I can but I am not a total tightwad about everything and do enjoy going out and having fun even if it takes splurging a little.

I really like Clark Howard as he gives a lot of useful day to day advice for saving money. I have also had the opportunity to meet and work with him a few times as he is also based in Atlanta. He is just as laid back and nice in person as he appears to be on TV and radio.

Both provide great common sense guidelines to maintain financial stability. Obviously, Craig has provided his daughter with great advice and counseling. No wonder he is buying an Elio

My wife and I agreed to divide up our home responsibilities, I make the big decisions, she makes the small ones. Since she has a background in accounting, she handles the small things like our budget and she is in charge of our bank accounts. With her nursing experience, she supervises our family healthcare. Since my background is journalism and media, I handle the big decisions like faith, politics, world peace, nuclear disarmament, etc . . . . :D

Buying an Elio?
