When was the last time you turned your head, to look at a white vehicle or motorcycle? Red pops!!!!! People stop to take a second look at a red vehicle or motorcycle. It will happen with our Autocycle as well! Don't get me wrong, I own a white car but I don't remember anyone ever commenting on its color. My red truck on the other hand, is a different story. No fancy upgrades on the outside, just a Nissan Frontier crew cab, but the first thing I here is "love the color!" If EM picks the right shade of red, that has some depth to it, it could be memorable!;)

I too would like a deep red or a candy-apple red -- but alas, "red hot" is pretty much a purple (I've measured it -- plenty of blue in that red), and doesn't pop -- at least for me. My own Elio will be either Orange or White. Or maybe wrapped if i'm in the money.

Where did you see the Elio "Red Hot" Color? I haven't heard they were carrying paint chips around or that the Color # was released. If it was released what's the number so I can go take a look at my local body shop.;)

I used the swatch on the vote panel and compared with the red on the home page rendering. They're pretty close. I took my numbers from the voting swatch.

Since I first saw the P4, I have known I wanted mine in orange, until Elio started talking about a possible wrap option. Then I started thinking that white would present a blank canvas for whatever you wanted to make it look like. I will probably stick with orange, but if I saw a wrap I wanted, white could come back into play.

One other item to keep in mind is the material it's being applied to; that can have a big effect on how the color looks.
I know the Elio panels are supposed to be molded in color, but I don't know if they are to the point of having extrusions made.
I think (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) the body panels on P3 through P5 are hand laid fiberglass and not the plastic the production car will be made in.

I need to see the color on the vehicle before I will order it. If what Ekh says about the color being more towards purple, I'm out of the red market and will go white or silver. I live in Colorado but am not a Broncos fan and if I got orange, it would wind up being called the Bronco mobile. White with some color stripes might be the ticket as well, with a rainbow and a Z below it, on the trunk lid.:)

If the panels are produced in color, then they wouldn't need the paint booths. Or are they produced in color and then painted to hide color defects and won't show scratches as easily as a standard paint job?

I don't believe the panels are produced in color. From everything I have read, they will be painted. Speaking of living in Colorado, I lived in the Denver area for 32 years. When traveling in my car, I used to listen to Tom Martino, "the troubleshooter", on khow radio. I think it's now clear channel. On Fridays, he dedicates his show to car days. If I still lived back there, I would call the show and ask if he ever heard of Elio. If he were to do a show on our autocycle, it would be great press. Now that I live in Florida, I listen to his show on my computer, but it is usually a pod cast, and not real time. I keep hoping someone back there will call in to the show, and ask him what he thinks of the Elio.
