Probably won't matter. I suspect the next four prototypes will cover the four uncovered colors.

However, I think the color voting and discussion is fun.

I'm glad people cam to their senses and voted RED!
I agree, so white it is then.

I think EM marketing will paint the P5 whatever color they want it to be.

White will be good for crash testing but the P5 will be the one that makes the press shows and it needs to have some color. White is just so boring... Like a blank artists canvas. Bo-ring!

The morning line --

White 34.23
Red 31.14
Blue 24.23
Black fuggedaboudit

What I want to know is how people are finding the poll to vote, since eliomotors.com has been hijacked by start engine. It would be nice to be able to go to Elio Motors WITHOUT the sales pitch for unredeemable stock. (I booked the poll url, which is how I can get in to give you the results).

Yes but, look what a skilled artist can do with that white canvas! :) So many of you guys have made very logical arguments for each of the choices. And that is why I am voting........WHITE ! :p With creative lighting (while on tour) White can be any color...except black. I also think white is less offensive than any other color... based on (school/university/pro-sports) "team colors". Everyone can look at white and "picture" what their favorite team colors would look like, without being offended by actually "seeing" it presented in a rival color.

White car picture .... we know it's a white car, but it's actually a bit darker than middle gray -- miles from white in this picture. Our heads compensate for the situation, and recognize this as a white car in shadow. (On this site, darker still, because the software behind the site's gallery capability really "mushes" the luminance and color values in every picture posted here). White is very relative! Nothing in this picture is actually a pure white! And our minds mess with us -- we don't as a rule see what's actually there, we INTERPRET what's actually there.

So this makes discussion of car colors and their effects kind of fuzzy .... PS took this shot two weeks ago.

This picture demonstrates why white should not be the chosen color. For marketing purposes, I look at this photo and the car is very forgettable and blends in to the background. No one will say "look at that awesome white car". On the other hand, how many people have talked about "that bright orange car". The Creamsickle is certainly not the color I would get, but the bright color is memorable and has been a great marketing tool. The P5 needs to be bright as well, that's why it should be red or blue. People need to think bigger picture, not just their personal preference.

I'd love to see the Red on the car, just to see what red they plan on offering; there are so many shades and depths of color.
If it's a washed out red it would not attract anyone's attention, a deep red, or candy red would act like a magnet.
Same can be said for the blue; but white? Yes there are 100's of shades and white variations (like appliance white to polar white) and it's such a common color it would just be too neutral, too meh. Doesn't attract or repel it just is. Which in a way fits a lot of people currently, no imagination, no thinking outside the box, just plain vanilla and leave my phone alone :D
