I must have missed something. Why does the word yellow seemed to be banned? It would make a great Elio color - make it very visible. Did Paul Elio's dad hate that color?

I think it's been floated that yellow is more expensive than the other colors..

The number of colors are based on the seven paint lines at Shreveport.
They did research on the most common colors and picked those.
Yellow would have been eight.

I thought Fire Departments were going to that lime green and other colors from that "loud" color group?
Or it's just that we are really behind the times out here in the boonies; our trucks are still red.

Cop cars are black, with a medium blue stripe.
This is one of their unmarked cars

Actually it is Lime Yellow. Very similar to Crayola's Electric Lime.
It is based on the best sensitivity of the rods and cones in the human eye.
As a result it provides the best visibility during the day and the night.
