I agree. I really question some of the motives. It's one thing to have doubts. I think even the best of us has has some doubt creep in. But some seem to be on a destructive mission to sink what hopes are still alive. And some of them have deposits down. Why in the world would you not try to hope for and try to encourage the success of Elio?

What scares me is that I almost think I understand the motives behind this learned behavior pattern.
As a young man in my mid - late teens I worked as a stock clerk in a super market.
A woman with a child on tow would try to talk to a butcher about a cut of meat.
The child, feeling ignored, would start tugging at the mothers arm until she raised her voice.
Seeing that he (the child) got attention this way, the obnoxious cretin would tug harder and start yelling.
Which of course got the brat more attention.
Move the clock ahead and the obnoxious cretin now has a reservation on an Elio and wants to know when.
So the obnoxious cretin reverts to the learned behavior and starts pitching a fit.
What gets the obnoxious one attention? A public attack on Elio.
And here we are. An obnoxious cretin attacking Elio to get attention.
Too bad the child wasn't taken outside and given a good spanking.
We wouldn't be dealing with that kind of learned behavior today.

The Nano was originally planned to sell for approximately $2,000 then went up to almost $3,000. It will sell in the USA for less than $10.000. Lets assume $9,000. This is a big increase.I am assuming this is the cheapest base vehicle. Is that due primarily due to meeting pollution and safety requirements? They will have an opening rear hatch which it did not have before. I wonder what the price increase distribution is for what purposes. How much for pollution. How much for safety. How much for added features. etc.

Actually the price may quickly increase to more than $10,000 just as the price quickly increased when released in India.

PB,
The Nano almost broke that company.
I believe I read that Tata is part of one of the largest vehicle mfgs in the world.
I remember reading that the parent company makes commercial vehicles and products as well as a whole line of "cheaper" cars.
From everything I've read, not only is the Nano never coming to the states, it may be phased out in India as well.
Like other vehicles, Tata has been setting numerous missed launch dates for the U.S. since 2009.

According to the Indian press, it crumples like an aluminum beer can.

Wait 6 months? I've been waiting since '08.
We should have had our Elio's long before yesterday.

I've only been waiting since February 19, 2014 - when Elio Motors claimed production to be "on target for the second quarter of 2015".

Oh, that's right NOW - so WE get our Elios in the next 90 days or so, RIGHT?

Oh no, sorry about that. I need to remember my own (publicly posted) conclusion:

"Elio Motors needs to "begin to learn to tell the Truth" about their production reality ...
...
not just keep on and on and on (still) spouting all their Sales Pitch Dogma-Blabber ...
about a production date which does not EXIST ... and CAN NOT exist until sufficient funding is attained.

Best Wishes with that.

please consider this to be a general statement that isn't directed toward any specific individual(s) .... I understand how folks who have been following EM's development since its inception or only for a few months can become disillusioned by not having an Elio in their driveway .... it would seem reasonable to me to consider such people to be supporters of the company .... when through frustration or whatever they move from publically supporting the project to publically casting a wide range of doubts about its success, I believe they are hurting possibility of the EM bringing the product to a successful conclusion .... I have referred friends who are/were interesting in an Elio ... after reading strongly worded negative comments they have told me that the are no longer interested .... I have had 3 friends (2 female, 1 male) who, for the same reasons, have chosen not to join this forum .... as has been noted by other members, when a post contains, "I want EM to succeed but _______" it is very much open to question if the person really does want it to succeed .... I believe that it is possible to raise genuine questions without attacking .... that there are ways to express disappointment without projecting future failure being inevitable .... that there are ways to express a lack of understanding about things that are seen and heard without calling into question the honesty of EM's management .... that there are ways to cope with negatives that don't result in magnifying negatives

Well said.
