Will someone explain to me why there was not an upswing in the reservations after the NY auto show?

Am I the only one? Were there no others expecting such an upswing in reservation?

What basis is there for such an expectation?
Perhaps it's that there are (already) plenty of t-shirts and bumper stickers available in New York City ...
(and cheaper, too)

CLEARLY THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THE FENCE
WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN ...... WAITING........
Yes. Me, for one. There was a time, after the dyno video came out, that I almost broke my pledge to wait till I can drive one before I put money down. That urge has passed.

I do need to say, many of us hammered Elio for the "Sunshine and Roses" they were trying to spread, and now we're bothered by no news. I'll grudgingly commend them though, better to say nothing than to spread bs.
I REMEMBER THE NANO .

IT IS AN INCREDIBLY CHEAP CAR INTENDED FOR PEOPLE
WHO CAN ONLY AFFORD A MOTORBIKE .

I AM SURPRISED IT HAS NOT BEEN MORE SUCCESSFUL .
I've also heard them referred to as death traps. Cheap only goes so far.

P.S.: PLEASE TURN YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF! (Thank you!)

In 2014 a Nano was crashed for NCAP by ADAC in Germany. Despite Tata's claim that it was expecting 4 stars, the Nano actually achieved zero stars.

My comment may be unfair, but places like the Greater New York area could be described as "ground zero" for the "instant gratification movement". They want what they want and they want it yesterday. They are not ready to put money down and wait six months

I think that isn't the case here. When Elio came to NYC and Boston late last spring there was a huge surge in reservations, you can see it is the 2nd biggest spike in my graph, 2nd only to the run-up to the end of the 50% bonus offer. Thus my observation that Elio has peaked with reservations for early adopters and the travelling show can't really do anything to counter the doubts that were created last fall with the delay and the perceived 180 on funding issue. I think if Elio advertised a 50% bonus up to $6k, there would still be little reservation growth no matter where they do a showing because the confidence is just so low that this is going to production.

New Yorkers may not want to gamble that EM will deliver in 2016. Wait 6 months? I've been waiting since '08.
We should have had our Elio's long before yesterday. I want what I want too and that is for EM to stop dreaming and start building.
