Yep, there's your answer why the Nano has been nada.
I wonder how many of the anticipated 5 stars the Elio will earn if crash tested? That safety rating is a serious consideration for EM needed to guarantee future sales and long term success if they do make it to production.

New Yorkers may not want to gamble that EM will deliver in 2016. Wait 6 months? I've been waiting since '08.
We should have had our Elio's long before yesterday. I want what I want too and that is for EM to stop dreaming and start building.

Have you applied a cattle prod to your Senators or Representative to have them get on the DoE for the ATVM loan?
(cattle prod = a strongly worded letter)
Can't guarantee that it will help, but can it hurt?

Sadly, the many posts indicating that government should stay out of private business and let free enterprise drive success, has finally swayed my way of thinking. There should be zero government program funding and involvement with any new start up business or energy related business. Industry needs to fund privately by letting the millionaire and billionaire venture capitalists provide low interest loans. There has been so much 'cursing' about government waste and the so called failed DoE Low interest Loan Program, even by those wanting Elio to succeed, that it has poisoned my sparkling blue pond.

I'm only kidding! No I haven't contacted my State Repsentatives other than with the request for autocycle legislation, which I didn't realize had passed this April. Three Cheers! However, if Elio doesn't produce after my long drawn out Pro Elio and Elio Motors speech/discussion with my Senator a year or so ago, I will feel like an idiot, although not the first time. I'm am happy that I didn't convince the Senator to put down a deposit, at least I don't think he did. Idaho will have autocycle regulations in place and no autocycle to regulate. Obviously, I'm not happy with the lack of progress on the anticipated 2016 production schedule. I don't believe there is adequate time with no Prototype builds and testing currently in progress. Whatever happens, happens. I have some other fun vehicle choices on my list. Sad for the guy that really needs an affordable vehicle, but may still happen.

Actually, I was referring to your folks in DC.
Seems like they have there noses so far up our ....................... that maybe they should spend some of our money constructively for a change rather than on programs that only help their friends. (like Solyndra.) We as a country actually do need a product like Elio which we could export.

please consider this to be a general statement that isn't directed toward any specific individual(s) .... I understand how folks who have been following EM's development since its inception or only for a few months can become disillusioned by not having an Elio in their driveway .... it would seem reasonable to me to consider such people to be supporters of the company .... when through frustration or whatever they move from publically supporting the project to publically casting a wide range of doubts about its success, I believe they are hurting possibility of the EM bringing the product to a successful conclusion .... I have referred friends who are/were interesting in an Elio ... after reading strongly worded negative comments they have told me that the are no longer interested .... I have had 3 friends (2 female, 1 male) who, for the same reasons, have chosen not to join this forum .... as has been noted by other members, when a post contains, "I want EM to succeed but _______" it is very much open to question if the person really does want it to succeed .... I believe that it is possible to raise genuine questions without attacking .... that there are ways to express disappointment without projecting future failure being inevitable .... that there are ways to express a lack of understanding about things that are seen and heard without calling into question the honesty of EM's management .... that there are ways to cope with negatives that don't result in magnifying negatives

I hope my expectations are not unrealistic. There is a car made in India called the Nano built very inexpensively. Everyone thought it would be a very large success. Instead, it was not.

Retired chairman Ratan Tata, the Nano's cheapest car in the world status actually had a negative impact on sales because he believes many decided not to buy the Nano in order to avoid being "seen in the World's cheapest car."

The 2nd generation Nano is considerably more expensive and scheduled to be sold in the USA by the end of 2015 .

I agree. I really question some of the motives. It's one thing to have doubts. I think even the best of us has has some doubt creep in. But some seem to be on a destructive mission to sink what hopes are still alive. And some of them have deposits down. Why in the world would you not try to hope for and try to encourage the success of Elio?
