If I went to the dealer and bought the interment cluster that's in my Sonic, would it just plug in?
An "Options list" has been in development for some time & the sooner it's released the better

A Facebook entry claimed the P5 was going to be shown to the world on May 8. I haven't seen pictures here so I suspect that didn't happen. Anybody know anything more about when the P5 might debut?
Mostly yes. All that's been said by EM employees is that it will run a "scaled down OBDII system". The diagnostic connector should be standard OBDII or else it wouldn't allow techs to plug in existing scanners. If I went to the dealer and bought the interment cluster that's in my Sonic, would it just plug in?
I kind of gathered that from the bits and pieces on the forum, but I was looking for someone to confirm. Thanks.Mostly yes. The Sonic cluster likely uses a proprietary connector but it utilizes the OBDII data. If you were handy enough to make an adapter you could plug it in.
No telling what "scaled down" means but most functions would work. Some of the higher functions might not.
There would not be any need to "re calibrate" as the OBDII data stream is standard.
