if this was an electric powered vehicle I wouldn't have a reservation .... I have one now that is up for sale and have no desire for another .... the technology doesn't exist to produce an electric vehicle capable of speeds up to 100 mph, and a cruising range of 720+ miles between charging .... nor does battery technology exist that will fit in the space available in an Elio and give an electric vehicle the flexibility of a gasoline powered one .... someday possibly but today ain't someday

The battery pack alone would cost more than 10K and fill the back seat.

$535 will get the Elio 15,000 miles at $3/gal... If the electric version was $2,140 more expensive, it would take 4 years to just break even IF electricity were free.
