Indeed sir!Oh I'll be glad to take a number and wait in line, have lots of practice doing that.
But it would be nice to know a bit more about it, and approx. price

Thank you very much.Indeed sir!
Thank you very much.
But price is a rather important part going forward..
If it is too much, I'd rather grab a few friends and build my own, I do believe I'm capable of doing that much.
I have plenty of examples.
Mark – you're on a mission that a lot of people already support, including myself. We're pulling for you.
He's using a 4-door as a donor. I don't believe he's stated what make or model.
I can see it.... it would have a perfect shape. Great looking...Because it's currently somewhat irrelevant. There are at least 10 similar cars I can name that would look pretty much the same if I started out with them, Ford Escort, Chev Sonic, Hyundai Accent, Nissan Versa, Kia Rio, Toyota Corolla, etc, and I haven't decided which I may use for actual production.
The current panels I am using just happened to be the ones I could get my hands on immediately (and quite cheap too!) to build the proof of concept.
My favored panels for shaping the car from at the moment would be from the Hyundai Accent ..
Well hurry up will ya? We wanna see your finished product! On the other hand, I'm just enjoying the progress pics, besides, you wanna do it right the first time.'84 mpg's post is pretty close to the mark, including the price, as mentioned, I will try to keep it on equal footing to the Elio at aprox current inflation values, so around sub $10K. It could be less, but of course it would be stupid of me to put myself into that corner.
In my 22 years in internet forums, I know there are 2 things people do not like: Project delays, and worse, price rises along the way ... There's very few projects that don't suffer delays, people come to expect it, but with price rises, people feel cheated.
I am trying to make it as 'Elio' as practical, there are 65,000 people out there who proved their interest, and even just 1% is 650 units, and I would be silly to stray too far from the Elio foundation.
I do believe 2 doors is a genuinely practical improvement, as well as a bit more trunk space required. It will have different styling of course, but none of the Elio's reverse trike, tandem 2 seat foundation is being given up.
It still might have 2 doors on the right side, it's not out of the question yet, but I will wait to see how a gearchange and parkbrake can be addressed first before I commit to the front door layout. Having 4 doors at the moment is of course very convenient to wait for that decision. Also allows me to literally mirror the bodyshell for right hand drive Countries later on.
In my mind there are 3 things that will make this project appealing: Price, looks, and air conditioning. All other things are just extra fruit.
"you wanna do it right the first time".
