Maybe a better question. Why doesn't Elio motors find them? The media portion of the web site has exactly one article for all of 2016!

Elio motors hasn't yet made the announcement yet, this was IQMS's press release.

I use a news aggregator with filter, also a "crap detector" (read up on Howard Rheingold's work or ask to join his group, if that's interesting to you) and monitor news that's in the areas I defined in the aggregator.

I always figured this would be the case....eventually

If they're capped at 250k units per year at the Shreveport plant, then I could see a need to expand for the next model just to supply the US market. Toyota sells over 300k Corollas a year in the US and those get half the mileage and cost 2.5x as much as an Elio.

I get there's several ways to read that phrase.... though I just take it to mean they're just saying it's their manufacturing site as a new manufacturer.

I could not agree more. Emails with actual signs of progress, even progress that we cannot see or touch, is HUGE!

Coming up with a plant might not be the problem. Finding workers willing to live there is something else...
