Perhaps that was the idea behind the PROMISED incentive....to balance out the final cost increase over the ANTICIPATED $6800. Reservationists certainly don't want to see EM lose money on the early reservation sales taking profit incentives away from the crowdsource funding investors. Most will be happy to simply get delivery on a vehicle.
EM may make mistakes and have to adjust to circumstances, but I am convinced they are the LEAST cynical corporation that ever dreamed of making a buck.

I think we all get it that what
we're kibitzing over is just
math, pure & simple. Elio is
smart enough to employ
some pretty sophisticated
analytics to hedge his bets
& forcast the first years
production & it's potential
results on quite a few levels.....

I guess that is the gamble. We know that his production date analysts were wrong. We are counting on his safety analysts, fuel economy analysts, funding analysts, his profit analysts, and his new production date analysts to be right. The question is whether we are going to throw a fit if some or all of those things are wrong as well.

I got the "no promises" and am familiar with the risks, to keep posting the milage, cost, economy, and acceleration perhaps should not be displayed (to the general public) as givens. If P E continues to share this publicly , and it doesn't/can't happen, it'll just be fodder for the trolls (did I leave out the Elgin Dash?)

I've always kind of ignored this, not high on my radar, but didn't Elio Motors provide early all-in buyers a added bonus above the 50% $500? This may become the method by which early reservations keep their $6800 pricing.

I'm not aware of any added bonus, but the 50% $500 may be the marketing tool by which early reservation all-inners keep their $6800 pricing.
