The first logician says "I don't know."
The second logician says "I don't know."
The third logician says "Yes."
Pavlov is sitting at a pub drinking a beer when the phone rings. He jumps up. "Oh crap! I forgot to feed the dog!"
Ooo... tricky...
Three logicians walk into a bar. The bartender says "Would you all like something to drink?"
The first logician says "I don't know."
The second logician says "I don't know."
The third logician says "No."
The bartender pours 2 drinks.
You are correct. There was never a way to eliminate the possibility that only the first one didn't want a drink. But what happens if:
Three logicians walk into a bar. The bartender says "Would you all like something to drink?"
The first logician says "No."
The second logician says "No."
The third logician says "No."
Pour two drinks and at worst have to drink one himself, assuming them entering the bar at least one wants a drink? I guess the bartender could ask again, but only include the second and third logician?
I think I need some real life research on this matter.
