I agree life is full of unnecessary risks.....but that isn't a good argument for taking an unnecessary risk. Kind of reminds me of the racecar driver saying "I could die from wrecking my race car.....might as well start smoking crack" lol

The risk is relativity small, and I keep going back to the lottery for some reason but,,, my friend has been playing for 30+ years, I am SURE he has spent $1000 on tickets, now who is foolish with their money? me or him, id say both but it's our cash.

I don't represent oil lobbies or anyone else. I'm not a fan of "big oil". I am a fan of technology. Doing things smarter, better and more efficient than before. If this Elio was out right now, I would think some people would be making a mistake for not owning one.

And you do have "some" control over peoples fortunes. I use to work in financial aid and steer people away from taking more school loans. Those "opinions" can carry weight and some control.

And be honest about the date if so. They plan.....plan to start in fall 2015. I think it would be safe to make an assumption there will be another deadline missed and the cars won't come out until summer 2016.

And my "handlers" (condescending?)..... What is wrong with people where they can't have a real discussion? Why not say "those are very valid points, but....." I see understand why people like this car. so do all of my "troll friends" that I don't talk to. I would just like to see some real progress. Some real answers that aren't vague.

Build 5 or 10 and put them on the road. Go take one and do donuts in a parking lot. That would shut up the "trolls". Give out 5 or 10 to people who love to travel. Let them drive it everywhere. That would get a great reaction.

Horn, I would bet your time is worth, say 15, or 20 dollars an hour? (was that condescending?) I hope you're worth MORE than that. Now, how many hours have you spent on this forum? Do your own math.
If your purpose for being here is to help us, You're on the wrong forum. We are just "cheerleaders" here. Your time and advise is better spent e-mailing EM. Just think, Several advice filled messages each day, and they would be on the right track!

Its not about the people like you who seem to have plenty of money. I really don't like seeing anyone lose money. I have been duped due to wanting to believe something.

I'm not saying it "I told you so" a year from now. I'm saying "wait for real results".

I see this as an unnecessary risk. But really I hope it work.....I really do (this line will be ignored by several people). If you are more than willing to take the risk for me to be better off in the future than be my guest. I have just seen some people lose money and it isn't always easy.

Horn, you make some valid points and although you're not on board with the whole concept yet demonstrated by your negativity that it may not see production, it's not without foundation so I give you credit for that. I've been in the same situation with all kind of doubts but in the end after weighing all the risks, gave my 1K non refundable. It's one of those things you do in life that you know could kill you...but you do it anyway. My doctor told me to lay off on the steaks and bacon because my cholesterol is high but what the heck...it taste good so I still do it...in moderation.
Having said that, we've told these naysayers over and over again.....WE DON'T NEED TO BE SAVED....WE'RE FINE.....WE DON'T NEED TO READ LENGHTY POST FROM SO CALLED EXPERT THAT HAVE PSYCHIC ABILITY TO FORECAST EM DOOM! If you truly unhappy with the way things EM is doing it...this is not the place....you would be better off going to one of the showings HOLDING A BIG SIGN SAYING DON'T MAKE A RESERVATION UNTIL YOU SEE THE FINAL PRODUCT!!! If this is not clear enough for you....then I might as well speak a different language!
I'm not speaking for everyone here but nothing is over until EM says it's over so I'm waiting until they say so. If it works out for them, then I get my ELIO!

Now I'm with you on that! Yes why not....5, 10..the more the better. With only two (correct me if I'm wrong) circulating all over the place...it garnered that much reservations....not even counting the ones who have not seen it yet...I can see it doubling with 5 to 10 out there. I don't see any problem with what you said...so long as you're not PREDICTING ANYTHING that is... because nobody...and I mean nobody knows what's going on inside EM. Nobody even knows except them if they have the 200 million or not at this point so posting and claiming out right that they don't have it is pure BS! 'Just sayin'.

Not related to this post. Z, on the Facebook page, Elio said they didn't have a tow limit but "we don't have a figure yet but 700-800 is a good estimate"
I know you were concerned about your little camper.
