I still think it should be gas. If all cars were electric we don't make enough power for that. And if electric power goes out you got nothing. I think there is room for both electric and gas.

I think if Paul changes to electric, I'd have to think twice before buying it.I still think it should be gas. If all cars were electric we don't make enough power for that. I’m in the first 2000 miles on a big, quick and fast street legal EV with mostly positive experiences thus far. It’s to early to determine if I go back. I hope not, because it’s the most fun and comfortable car I’ve driven in my 74 years.to each his own .... I've owned and driven small, street legal, electric vehicles .... some advantages for sure but they were highly offset by the negatives .... "once I wasted money, bought and drove an EV, I'll never go back to one" statement is true for me.
I EMAILED THE COMPANY AND PHONE CALLS I GET NOTHINGI have been absent here a long time (I needed a break from the chatter about Elio) and looked up my deposit date is coming on it's 5th anniversary. This looks like it will never happen and I think we have all been duped. I wish I was wrong, but sure that I am not. The worst car start up tragedies ended up producing some cars. TUCKER, BRICKLIN, DELOREON, FISKER ALL CRASHED BUT DID PRODUCE SOME.
THEY NO REPLY MY EMAILS OR THEY DO NOT ANSWER PHONE CALLSI’ll stay until they throw in the towel, but not holding my breath until they do!
I believe the E1-C did in fact have the famous IAV engine built specially for it. If I remember correctly it was a little low on power (or something) so perhaps wasn't in its final form. Then Paul decided to abandon IAV and went with a stock motor. As far as I know, that motor company was never named or put into any Elio's."not to mention the elio's awesome gas mileage"?? What gas mileage are you talking about? There are no functioning elio's (only a few incomplete prototypes) and only the unsubstantiated claim of "up to 84MPG", whatever that means.
I think he was at the big screen premier of "The Lady and the Dale" looking for makeup and fashion cues from his mentor. When was the last Paul Elio sighting?
