Naw, Wayne's got a Production number. I think he's really the looney from the Caribbean with a thesaurus and spell check. Notice all the spacing in his posts. I've also got suspicions about you know who, from Long Island, no number either and by the way, if I see one more picture of a Sparrow I'm gonna throw up.

I you are referring to me , I assure you that I am not anyone else here on the board . The moderators can easily verify that by my IP address. I do not have a production number as I have not sent them any money . I am interested in purchasing an Elio when they go into production and but don't feel I need to justify my reasons to anyone . I was not aware that this board was for individuals with deposits only . If I am not welcome here , just say the word and I will not participate in discussions any longer . And they say NewYorkers are rude ....o_O

All are welcome here that have something to contribute. If you are here to be totally negative with nothing to back your opinion up, you can expect to be challenged. Doesn't mean you are not welcome, just that there are differing views. Those of us that went all in did so because we didn't want to wait the additional year to take possession of our Elio, if and when production happens. Yes I can afford to lose the1k, but the thought that I was wrong, would piss me off, more than the loss of a grand. Still betting this will happen.

Thanks for your response Eddie but being accused of trolling by another name is not offering a different viewpoint . I don't fault anyone for going all-in but it seems like there are some folks who resent those of us who took a more thoughtful approach . I can also afford to lose $1k but rather not . I would enjoy walking into an Elio showroom when they are being produced and buy one on the spot . Maybe 2 . Anyway , I always try to engage in polite conversation about topics that I am interested in but will not tolerate arrogant snobbery .

Some conversations can get heated, and at times misunderstood. If you find someone offensive, you can always tap on their avatar and click on ignore. I personally have both the referenced individuals you were acused of being on my ignore list. Born and raised in Amityville, I'm one of those rude New Yorkers that transplanted out west to Colorado, and now retired to Florida. Wiseass, cowboy, redneck type. I'm sure you will put your deposit down when Elio nears production. Until then, relax and enjoy the actual info that occasionally does flow on this forum. Much more informative than what you will see on Facebook.

...Fourth, how many times will Paul begin a sentence with the word "so" during the ceremony?...

Using the word "so..." to answer a question has long been an irritant in modern interviews. It implies previous context in the dialog that hadn't existed. I read that academics were the ones who first started doing it. It makes it seem like the speaker had their train of thought interrupted, e.g. "so, as I was saying...." But from what I've seen of Mr. E. he's mostly down to earth.

My main fear is that the geologically-ignorant public thinks OPEC's market flood to starve U.S. fracking, in conjunction with slacking world demand, means oil is now permanently cheaper, as if it's magically no longer finite and doesn't get less plentiful (under the ground) each day. Burning oil faster just because it's temporarily cheaper is insanity when you understand bell-curve depletion. Abiotic oil is a fantasy. But that's how the herd runs. Monkey see lower prices, monkey waste more fuel. I hear SUV sales are climbing to some degree. Very short attention spans.

That's a start. Since this is the Elio Owners' forum, you input might be more convincing if, instead of looking into it, you plunked your money down.
Technically no one on here owns an Elio.

The only real person with an Elio is Mr. Elio.

I will put money down when I can actually drive the car home.

I currently getting close to 50 mpgs and just paid $1.57/gal for gas. Im not desperate for a high mpg vehicle. My money is currently better off in my hands.

I, for one, don't think you should "ignore." If "the ones who know" don't reply to the comments that are "made in ignorance", how will the people who "don't know", get the correct information?
I think Horn really does want an Elio. He's just "hedging his bet" (well, actually he doesn't have a bet). This way, if it fails, he can gloat louder that anyone else. Sad thing (for him) is, by the time he is sure enough to go "all in".....he's gonna have to wait another year! :D :p......uh, I mean :(

Actually if I were to be hedging my bet, i would try to buy a large amount of fuel at today's current price. (Assuming that's possible) As I put down the $1,000 for the Elio. If the Elio is't made and gas prices go up, the difference in gas prices could cover the lost deposit.

This is assuming that you could take delivery of the fuel at intervals down the road.

And you are right about getting info. If I have questions about it, that means several others do to.

Ihave no doubts about the engine running or that the car wouldn't get at least 60mpgs.

The market is loaded against you, the big boys ALL have the gas options covered, unless you get a BIG tank to store the stuff.
I for one enjoy different prospectives, there are many here like you and I are questioning and concerned-, for that you are not alone, you give the impression of an educated, insightful individual, and seeing into the mirror is difficult, but you come across to me as very offensive, followed by defense posturing to rationalize your contributions.
Ask away, answer away, question, as we all do- without adding an edge that for some "cuts"
I have no vested interest in your or anyone else opinion(s) we each choose, no need to challange this post - this should only be seen by me as constructive., but do what you want and don't be "upset" when your motives are questioned.
If you're waiting before you "jump-in" great, we each have financial and emotional thresholds.
I look forward to your opinions
