I do think something or someone almighty important must have come along in order to reschedule an event of this magnitude, especially since it was scheduled about a month ahead of time. So it is possible this announcement isn't what it seems. On the face of it, this delay is costly to a company already being battered by bad news. But perhaps something really good (or just inevitable) has caused this delay. I don't like it that they couldn't get the new date in the same announcement.

.... I have no clue as to the why but can see it being unexpectedly delayed for the reason given in the email .... EM clearly knows how this looks and how it will be received by both its supporters and detractors .... in my mind the worst case scenario would be an engine failure and there hasn't been any indication of that .... right now, I'm taking the email at face value .... given that EM is reported to be actively seeking new/major investors, "rescheduling the date for the official engine unveiling originally scheduled for Feb. 6 due to several key stakeholders having immovable scheduling conflicts." suggest to me that they have recently found some who couldn't fit the date into their schedule .... the last sentence, "We are currently working with the key partners and the facility to quickly confirm a new date and will advise you accordingly." will not go away .... if a new date doesn't come quickly, rumors will grow and it won't be good

To keep the hubbub to a minimum EM definitely needs to sort this out ASAP. My guess is that the best scenario would be for EM to have a new date set when they release this information to the media today and for that date to be within two weeks time. We will find out soon enough how close to my guess they will be.:D

Sounds encouraging that it did better than anticipated. As for the reschedule it is more important those key people be there than anything else. They could be the ones to pony up.

I didn't get an email guess yall have special emails.

I just checked my email, I didn't see it. Then I checked my spam folder, boom it's there. Check your junk/spam folder BlioKart.

Well "after sleeping on it" -
1. The -email is not the usual "no-reply" we receive from company announcements- i.e. I "replied" to it and it went back- so do the same, it made me feel better
2. With the importance of this event, and knowing EXACTLY when the event was planned, Either "THEY" couldn't make it"
or "my dog ate my homework" were probably the two excuses left that EM discussed. Since we know the dog story, they decided to go with the other.
3.How about a Private showing?? The engine must have been running 7 days?, 14, 15......
4. Why do "they" even have to be there ?, If I got deep pockets, I could re-schedule, wait till I see it in person The WSJ? TV?, Official EM video? live broadcast? AND/OR send a rep!!!!!!!!!!!!!- Did EM expect them to come with checkbook in hand?
5. I was disappointed with the recent $ announcement, and all the crap we generated to rationalize/ justify it away
6. THIS IS THE WORST OF THE DELAYS,-All the other delays were able to be rationalized away by referring to the contract, past quotable statements, and external delays they had no control over, and what an honest, trustworthy man PE is.- Not this time - this is all on EM, and now I'm saying it out loud-
"HE IS LYING"

The email that I got was from noreply@eliomotors.com. Interesting.

Is this going to be really good or really bad?

I'd want to go back to the question quoted above.
You know I have some view points that are creative, sometimes dead on and sometimes wild hair-off the mark. But I like to look strategically just a bit ahead and that's risky, but it can pay off.

Here's what I see. Now that we have almost 40k reservations, that part isn't as important to convince additional investment or the ATVM program as it is now important to have matching investment.
Thusly, EM is, for now, focused on having results delivered for the investors view, and not for our pleasure. i.e. everything PR wise is going to be catered to the potential and existing investor and not so much for reservationists or even new reservationists.
And we likely will not see all that is being done for their benefit, for a while.

All that makes sense that EM would set this engine demo specifically to the needs of the 'stakeholders'. Therefore I have to say, this may be a good thing in that it seems important to do this demo right on behalf of the 'stakeholders'. That also says EM expects some results from this, even if it remains in the dark trading rooms of the investors community.
Unfortunately, it means we may not get all the pampering we've gotten in the past, other than something like the 'advanced notification' letter we just got.

I suspect reservations are still important to setting the first year production, but EM expects that to pick back up after improvements to any of the following, current investor funding rounds, ATVM approval, engine completion, 25 crash test vehicles.

Conclusion: We reservationist have done our job for now. EM is concentrating now on areas that are less transparent to us.

The email that I got was from noreply@eliomotors.com. Interesting.

That's the address for their new email service mail blasts, I don't see anything unusual with that. I'm just curious if they'll be using the new system to keep reservation holders well in the loop (as they should and the system was purportedly implemented for) or let us swim with the sharks.
