I am a manufacturer of custom thermoformed products. Sometimes referred as vacuum forming. "Mounting to a vacuum form base" caught my attention.

I believe the process is compression molding that will be used to produce the body panels. It's a fairly cheap and efficient method of making theses components.

I believe you are right. i don't know why, but I think the "black pieces" on the wheel shrouds and covering the rear swing arm, "might be" thermo-formed ABS. I did a bit of vacuum forming while working for Dagger Kayaks, back in the '90's. Got to make a few simple molds, too.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

That front clip photo is extremely realistic in its detail, I seriously doubt its a photo-chop but I could be mistaken. No one has mentioned the name of the file is 'Creamsicle', the color shown is a far cry from the non-metallic 1970's orange of the P4. This new color has depth and character, looks more bronzy-copper-ish and just may be metallic with a clear coat. Agree? Love the headlight enclosures. This project just keeps getting better 'n better.

The rendering reminds me of Blender. The realism of the renderings is incredible! One reason I'm leaning towards Blender is, if you look at the reflections off the hood, you see white (light emitting) squares. In Blender one of the ways to illuminate an object for rendering is to create planes (squares/rectangles), place them above the object at various angles and heights above the target object, and give them an "emission" quality and use them as the light source. The attached pic shows a SUV after rendering...notice the reflection of the plane off the windshield, hood and fender. It looks a lot like the light sources in the Elio front end pics. Regardless of whether or not it is indeed Blender, they're using the same process. The Camero pics are of a Blender tutorial I bought a while back [just need to find the time to go through it a few more times...steep learning curve!] One just modeled, the other of the model rendered...VERY COOL!

It looks like the reflection of a window on the front clip, and I can see the window crossbars in the headlight as well. Will Blender do that? If so, that's pretty awesome.
