That may well be, but Elio still never said it was IAV and the rumor that it was on IAV is still nothing more than a rumor...

that is correct .... a rumor based on a source with a good track record for reliable info .... as opposed to being something pulled out of thin air

Nope. That handling a PR situation like this is either unnecessarily foolish or inaccurate or perhaps a little of both. If you want to be taken seriously, particularly by people with a pile of money they'd like to make larger by investing, then this sort of herky-jerky message managing does not send the right message at all. It's just plain weird. No one thinking of investing would look at this 11th hour 'well everything is great but we just don't have time for this now' and not wonder WTF these guys are doing or what else is going on.

When we look at a start-up, a vendor, a new technology, or any in-licensing opportunity (due diligence) we assume a priori that we are seeing what we are seeing the best possible light. Our job is to kick over all the rocks and see what is underneath. In this case every rock you turn over has something weird hiding under it. This engine unveiling was perhaps the most important material event other than the plant acquisition to happen and it did not happen.

The only folks I'm questioning for their real reasons are the management team and their public relations group. And if they come around an unveil a perfectly good engine in a week to no formal announcement at all, then it'll be clear that their PR group and management team are just inept - not at designing a working engine - but at properly buidling a reputation for believability. And I will cheer loudest of all.
Yes, but did you know drivers kill more deer than hunters?

The obvious, and most logical scenario is that IAV has 'custody' of the engine (after the 'scheduled' Dyno tests) and is holding it 'hostage' until Elio Motors PAYS the development BILL! Any company that would schedule and ANNOUNCE a major media event.... without FIRST checking and confirming with their Major Attendees..... does not deserve to run a major automotive company.

absolutely, agree that is a very logical scenario for a person who is actively trying to find any tidbit of info to twist for their use .... to prove I'm wrong about the twisting, please offer authoritative corroboration which shows you are correct and the info given here about IAV having to take care of an emergency for one of its large clients as being the cause of the delay is wrong

Dear Casey,

I put a deposit down a few years ago on a product that I thought would go into production even though there was no guarantee. This company had the audacity to project when they thought the vehicle would be built, which should have been by now. Well, as every day keeps passing and this car isn't built, I feel the need to just keep complaining about the same thing over and over. Casey, I'm heartbroken and I'm so sad about this.

I'm on several fan forums websites and no one is listening to me about how we've all been wronged. How could this company have lied to me. Casey, could you please play "I'm Crying" by Roy Orbison.
