The P4 originally had it's exhaust installed hanging below the vehicle instead of tucked in tight to the underside like the final model will have and the newer exhaust is. Earlier in 2014, during a television appearance in New York City, some news anchors unexpectedly took off with the vehicle however during their test drive they ended up on a Manhattan street which had been stripped of its asphalt surface layer and as a result had manholes sticking up several inches out of the ground. The news people ran over one of these manholes which knocked the exhaust off the vehicle due to the low hanging exhaust under the already lowered P4.

Can't ya just picture Elizabeth Hasselbeck bouncing off the low clearance roof of the back seat when that Elio went over the manhole that ripped the exhaust off?

Elio STORE'S, not dealers. Ford, GM etc have dealers, Elio will have stores.
I know it's a new concept, but it's what separates Elio from the rest of those shameless profiteers.
Well....that and 84 mpg, $6,800 and and no helmet.
