I find it hilarious that a fuel efficient innovative ICE engine vehicle kicks butt at a consumer electronics event.
I actually kind of understand it even if it is odd.
CES is packed full of gadgets and there are even a lot of nice cars showing off a lot of car gadgets but the problem is that all that stuff starts blending together after a little while. In this environment a futuristic looking orange colored fully enclosed three-wheeled vehicle is something that manages to stand out as being something different.
The other advantage is that these are technology journalists and not the auto industry media who tend to be jaded about start-ups and biased against economy cars. Showing off this unique looking, inexpensive, and fuel efficient ride which can also be packed full of technology to tech journalists is actually a pretty smart move as they are likely to provide good coverage without asking too many pesky auto industry questions.
