Looks like I one of the very few thinking everything is possibly OK, or at least workable?
Well, so be it. I've stood alone before and come out just fine. If I'm wrong, well, I've lost a Dr. Pepper.

just picking a number ... if $20 ends up being legitimate would that translate to the campaign being a success ? .... how about $15M or $22M .... in short where's the line ??

Sure, 18 million would be a success -- but not like letting the thing run for another week or so. That's why this is such a mess. EM has, in effect been robbed of the chance to accrue legitimate pledges because of the actions of the few. That's not right. Period.

I am now a member of the 5513. I'm going to make a bumper sticker I think.

I pledged early on, but I did not notice a number. How would I find out?

I think they'll make it, plus some. I pledged 250 dollars, but when push comes to shove I believe I'll invest a bit more.
Once I have what I believe I'll need to purchase MY Elio, I'll probably be even more inclined to invest. Might as well keep looking forward!

UPDATE Site is no longer showing target and percentage, just $ amount and number of pledges. Probably a good short term deterrent to the asshole brigade.

And 5513 was such a nice sounding number!
I must agree, that's a good thing. Maybe the site was hacked or? what-ever, this more realistic.
They could also have implemented a limit too.

That is a big ego crush, for a web site however, to get a wild goose chase on your site.

My Dr Pepper is not lost yet!
