Nah, there's a ton of latent interest from what I've seen. Of my friends I'm the only person who's reserved or invested, but literally every one of them wants one as their next car, and my parents will have one as well. That's a good 6 sales where only one is reflected in any of the data right now. My friends just aren't the type to be able to drop $100+ on something they may not see for a year or two. As for selling their cars when the Elio becomes available and doing the gas savings financing, though, they're "all in" on that part.

Thank you for the upbeat anecdote, unfortunately it is not the same in my circles, thus some self doubt. "What, am I the crazy one here" type situations.

I agree. There are so many people who I have talked to and people I have seen posting on various sites that have there doubts and won't put down a deposit, but state that as soon they are in production they can't wait to get one.

that has been my experience as well .... in addition, those of us who are following EM closely tend to forget that we are in a very small minority .... the vast majority of the people I've mentioned an Elio to had no prior knowledge of the it .... a few have made reservations but most are sitting back and watching with various degrees of interest .... once they are in production and are seen on the roads across the country I anticipate a huge surge .... how long that surge will last, I do not know

Well, all I do know for sure is a bunch of -before-the-weekend- articles went out just a couple minutes after 19m was hit. It is possible individuals were also waiting for a threshold to hit before they jumped in. Real or not, $20mil is possible today or tomorrow.

I imagine it depends on who your peers are. If they are luxury or racing geeks, then hmm. Around me I have a split group. Some absolutely don't see it, "give mea pick-up or forget it". And the others are like, "I don't care, how can I get to work cheaply, OK that'll work". And quite number are "That's really cool. Let me know when it comes out and I'll consider it." I only find skin in the game here in the forums and elswhere online.
