From slashgear "acceleration rate is still most likely to be 100 mph in 9.6 seconds"
That new engine must be a lot better than we thought!
Where did you get those numbers from? The Elio will accelerate 0-60 in 9.6 seconds with a top speed of 100. Not 0-100 in 9.6
If that's what Slashgear is saying it, it's another fine example of crappy fact checking and reporting.

You think that legal fees, admin time, etc, etc, etc are not built into what they need to raise? Now that's humorous. :D

I didn't say that they didn't factor in the fees. I'm saying at the end of the crowdfunding by the time they filter through all the people / investors, and pay all said fees they might end up with 5 million.

So you can show us a different real world event where this happened, right?

just wondering, do you have any fact based data/sources to back that up or are you just stating an opinion .... from the terms of the pledge, people are not under an obligation to invest the amount the pledged .... they will get an email and either arrange to submit the funds or not .... so long as they stay within the terms of the offering, there shouldn't be much in the way of red tape of legal fees .... EM will have to pay a fee to Start Engine, I haven't seen any documentation as to the terms of that fee
The fee is a flat fee per participant. it's $50 per investor, if all the 6,812 current participants invest, Elio will have to pay Start Engine $340,000.

Elio's costs to run the campaign include a fee to the campaign design firm, which I relive is RoundX, and their legal fees and a filing fee to the SEC. Not pocket change, but not megamillions, either.

Sorry.... Super Mario Bros (Nintendo, a company at the time many figured would flop when held to the leadership of Atari and Comadore) generation here. You win, you've been stomping Bowser, and Thwomps, a euphemism for setting things straight and getting shit done. Or it was back in the day.
