STOP THE VIDEO at 54 seconds in and look at the instrument panel. TOTALLY DIFFERENT than the Elgin dash, and much more sane! and, if it's just a test vehicle, why would they bother putting in a whole new dash? WOW!

That's the Elgin dash without the Elgin gauges installed. They just tacked those two round gauges in place of the Elgin Boobs.

check 55 seconds, too. Sure looks different to me. Also, why mess with putting in fake instruments, if that's what they are?

They are not fake. They are the actual gauges, BUT, not with the Elgin face. They will replace the pointer with a number wheel and in front of the wheel will be the Elgin face with the square hole the numbers will show through.

Could be that there's a temporary supply issue with the Elgin gauges or because the Elgin gauges are too expensive to waste on crash and vehicle performance testing.

Sime of the testing is fir safety and electrical systems, so the will need actual instruments for those tests at least

Great eye! The dash you see is a placeholder, as this is not a public vehicle and will be used for testing. However, the electronics and spacing are the same. At this stage, there are no plans to offer an optional dash.
