Jevons' paradox precisely...primary reason for the new optimism for ELIO in certain pragmatic corners. Remember...the ICE is just a profitable niche stepping stone to...when the time is right...alternative but currently more expensive and range impaired powertrains!

When you write your story on greatagain.gov , how about copying it before you send it ... and posting it here? Lots of us would like to know what's being said.
Wish I had done so... basically talked about 50+ miles I drive daily on my 209,000 mile Toyota and the export potential to India and China of our latest, greatest USA made export. A personal and an American short story.

Here's mine, already posted on greatagain.gov. Thanks again Mr. Hatch on providing this idea and website:

"Getting manufacturing jobs in the USA will certainly be one way to help make America great again. In the last year, I have decided to pay attention to where an item was made when I buy it. If it’s made in China, I put it back on the shelf. A couple of years ago, I needed to buy a certain product, and I decided then to start focusing on buying products that are made in the USA. I also decided that spending a few more bucks was worth it.

One company that could use some government help on providing new manufacturing jobs is Elio Motors. There is a plant in Shreveport, LA that is ready to go. Elio Motors is leasing this plant and has a vehicle designed that EM plans to build in Shreveport. This plant was closed several years ago, and the Shreveport area could certainly use the boost in available manufacturing jobs.

On eliomotors.com, you can read their story and their plans for a 3-wheeled vehicle that is safe and gets amazing miles per gallon. EM has plans for 90% of the content in the vehicle be made in North America, with the vehicle being assembled and built in the USA. Several prototypes have been built, and an engine has been created specifically for the vehicle. This is the first time in more than 50 years that an engine has been designed and built for a new car company in the USA.

There is an ATVM loan guarantee by the Dept. of Energy for which EM has applied. If that guarantee can be provided, the short story is that EM can make it to production. They have several suppliers lined up, ready to go, and have been meeting with the suppliers regularly to work together and collaborate.

Paul Elio, the founder of EM, wants to produce the vehicle on a large scale, allowing for a lower price per vehicle to sell to the public. The low price for a new vehicle under warranty would allow buyers to make it to work and have a loan that they can afford.

My story is that I am rooting for Elio Motors. I am one of the 63,000 reservation holders that has put down a deposit on a vehicle, so I do have a personal and vested interest.

Let’s get this ATVM loan guarantee to be approved by the DoE. Let’s get some manufacturing jobs created in our country and make America great again."

Agreed. The point is to tee up the issue (without a whole lot of detail) and show consumer interest while bringing up benefits for manufacuring and jobs in the US (while outcompeting other countries). All win-win for PEOTUS. Elio can close it with the nitty gritty.
The letter that you write is categorized as an argumentative essay. It has only one goal, one purpose: to convince the reader to actively support your position. Think of the letter as a baseball game where each batter (your letter) gets just one pitch. The batter has to use the one and only pitch to hit a home run or walk back to the dugout in shame. The home run metaphor represents the reader who has now become motivated to take action, plenty of action. The success of obtaining your desired results depend on the reader. Think about the reader for he is your only hope. What will motivate the reader to use many hours of his time and take some risks in accomplishing your wishes? It is a tall order.
The following may be of some help in forming the structure of your letter:

That's why the emphasis on creating manufacturing jobs in the US. Pushes many Trump hot buttons at once. And it makes him look good, early. But we need enough people writing so it doesn't look like random nut jobs.

So while in substance, it's an argumentative essay, it benefits from a touch of humanity to give the writer credibility in the reader's eyes. Hence the bit about Elio's effect on the writer, and the push not to copy the same letter, but to personalize.

I"m glad someone here has studied rhetoric.

Hello Coss,

Heraclitus is credited with the infamous quote on change that reads "change is the only constant in life," which has evolved into "the only constant is change" and other similar sayings. In the United States, we have the opportunity for change at the highest level every four years or so. That change, as we are sure you have heard, is happening now.

Elio fans feel it, and on many of our social media outlets have come up with an interesting way of participating in this change by telling President-elect Donald Trump about Elio Motors! We support the democratic process as much as the next person so we wanted to share the link with you in case you have not seen it, click here.

The link lets you send the new administration your thoughts, maybe even something about your favorite American made, ultra high mileage, three-wheel start up? We will leave that up to you...

From our family to yours, we wish you a happy, healthy and safe holiday season.

Warm regards,

The Elio Team
