Don't want to bother with the template? Here's where you go to tell Trump's Transition Team how much the Elio will help to make America Great Again. You have to go to https://greatagain.gov then click on "share your story". Trying to go direct to the "share" page dumps you into a job application form.

Want some help? Read on.

EM does not want letters going directly to DOE at this time, if ever. However, there is another place we can write that is likely to get results in the short term.

So, the incoming Trump transition team has put up a site called GreatAgain.gov. One part of the site invites us to share our story / ideas to make America great again. Go to https://greatagain.gov and click the tab called “share your story.”Go to the link and write your story. You can pick and choose from the ideas below or just write your own. Note: Elio is aware of this effort. They have blessed.

I'm sharing the letter I wrote. Key parts are

1. Talk about Elio's importance in creating jobs. This is an attention-getter for Trump's people.
2. Talk briefly about the Elio itself.
3. Talk about your own personal reasons for wanting an Elio, especially if they are job-related.

Following my letter are some points you could choose from if you don't want to come up with your own.

Feel free to use this letter as an idea starter, or to copy it and modify it to suit yourselves.

The idea is to write your own letter, not just send a copy of this one.

Here's my letter:

I know a way to make America great again by creating a ton of manufacturing jobs. And these are new jobs. Better still, the money to make this happen has already been allocated by Congress. Let me explain. There is a new car called the Elio which gets 84 mpg, seats two, is really safe, and costs $7,300 well-equipped. Learn more at http://Eliomotors.com.

We’re talking 1500 direct American jobs in Louisiana, another 1500 indirect jobs from suppliers gearing up to supply parts to Elio, and up to another 15,000 jobs around the Nation. That’s a lot of jobs!

Elio is real. There are 63,000 paid reservations for an Elio. Elio is raring to go, and they are waiting on a $186 million DOE Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing loan to get the plant up and running. DOE has been sitting on this loan application since 2014. DOE admits the Company meets the technical requirements.

DOE has nearly $30B for these loans, so this is a small one. So get DOE moving on this to make America great again.

In my own case, the Elio will save me about $2,500 dollar a year. I'm 71, and that's a big chunk of money to me. So to make America great again, create manufacturing jobs, AND help the environment with a GAS POWERED CAR -- to do all this Mr. Trump should encourage DOE to at least launch a due diligence program to validate Elio's viability in the marketplace. Then maybe they will cough up a little of the money they've been hoarding for 10 years. Thank you.
Here are ways Elio might affect you. Customize at will, or invent your own.

1. It will let me get to my job XX miles away.

2. It will save me $XX a month in gas I don’t have to buy (Figure Elio uses 1/3 your current gas)

3. It will save me a ton of money on insurance – stands to reason that repairing or replacing an Elio will cost about ¼ what it costs to total out an ordinary sedan, so the insurance will cost less. And it's lightweight, so liability costs should be lower, too.

4. It will let my kid get to college and back safely and cheaply

5. It will let me get to work AND feed my kids

6. It will help reduce our dependence on foreign oil AND our overall gas bill.

Here's my submittal (thanks for the template provided earlier!):

You can take two small steps if you want the US to lead in manufacturing again: (1) you can start by getting the Department of Energy to approve the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing (ATVM) loan application they received from Elio Motors back in 2014, and (2) pass a statutory amendment that permits three-wheeled, high mileage commuter vehicles like the Elio to qualify for Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) credits, which will help monetize the positive environmental attributes of the Elio and help larger automobile manufacturers meet the CAFE requirements without relaxing those requirements.

Elio Motors is gearing up to manufacture up to 250,000 units per year of its purely gasoline-powered, three-wheeled $7300 commuter vehicle that gets up to 84 mpg while meeting the highest safety standards. DOE has already determined that Elio Motors meets its loan program's technical requirements but hasn't taken further action on the loan application for well over two years. Approving the ATVM loan will allow Elio Motors to complete its manufacturing line at the old Hummer facility in Shreveport, Louisiana. This will bring up to 1500 new, high-paying manufacturing jobs back to the local economy, and will have a multiplier effect that creates up to 15,000 related jobs in the US. And amending the CAFE law and regulations will allow innovative start-up manufacturers like Elio Motors to help larger auto manufacturers comply with existing efficiency regulations. You can learn more at http://Eliomotors.com.

The Elio is real. There are over 63,000 paid reservations for an Elio. Elio Motors is raring to go, and it is waiting on the $186 million ATVM loan to get the plant up and running. With rising gas prices, America needs this vehicle. And the exporting potential is huge; Elio Motors could even export the Elio to China someday. DOE has nearly $30B for these loans; $186 million is pocket change compared to the billions loaned to Ford and other manufacturers.

Thank you for your consideration.

Don't forget it isn't just about the ATVM loan it is about the bill that allows autocycles getting CAFE Credits. It should also be up to the consumer if they want to purchase a vehicle directly from the manufacturer not some Cadre of Dealers pushing their agenda

Yup, I touched on both the ATVM loan and the need to change the law to allow for three-wheeled high mileage vehicles to qualify for CAFE (as opposed to "toys" not intended to further the point of CAFE).

I didn't touch on the dealership issue since that's essentially a states' rights issue, and I suspect not an issue on which this administration is going to weigh heavily in.
