Exactly what I had in mind. I checked the link you p
If a backup camera was added where would the actual viewing screen be mounted? Take a look at dashboard pictures and you'll see there aren't really any flat places large enough for it.

Perhaps the monitor could be designed as a mock rear view mirror and mount it accordingly.

I thought about this, but with the visor going across the entire top of windshield area, not quite sure how to make it work. o_O

Good point! Seems like it would need to be mounted closer to/on the dash without interfering with your line of sight for the sun visor to do it's thing. Personally, I'm more worried about the fools next to, and in front of me, than what's coming up directly behind me. Don't think the rearview vision will be much of an issue with the sideview mirrors....total speculation on my part until I cruising down the road.

Mount it to the visor and leave the visor down. Those things are skinny enough so you could get away with it, though the wiring would be pretty exposed unless you're a whiz at such things (I'm not).

Can't believe the last ten post. (-NSGT8R)

If I'm not mistaken, the camera is to be used to check behind the car to insure it is safe to proceed, not to be utilized during the back up process.

When you are backing up, you must turn your head and look out the side or back window to ensure the lane you are entering is free from oncoming traffic prior to entering the roadway.

The viewing angle on a review camera ( not, backing up camera) is not 180 degrees and it is impossible to see down the road left or right. It would be like backing with side blinders. JMO

I use my backup camera to make sure I don't mash my muffler on the curb/sidewalk and in parking lots. My depth perception seriously stinks, so the camera with distances measured off is great.

I always park nose out, so I don't have to worry about blindly pulling out into traffic, hoping noone zoomes in or change lanes as I come to a stop and shift into forward gear.

I've been thinking this should be a given with an Elio. I'll have to practice first though. :p  :) Z

Uhhh, Craig...was the first sentence supposed to be a question? Not sure where I lost you (or vice-verse).

Okay. When I enter my vehicle (3 wheeled or not), I've got a "pretty good" idea what's behind me...usually, it's a recycle bin I need to miss that I set out the night before, depending on what day of the week it is. Simple observation when you enter the vehicle takes care of 99.9% of surprises. Walmart parking lots are a whole 'nother subject. On the road, I believe that the side views on the Elio will do the trick. Situational awareness is a skill I learned when I first started driving...I still practice it every time I get behind the wheel, and situational awareness seems to be a rare practice these days (is assuming everyone else on the road is and idiot, and has no business driving paranoid? Or just what has kept me from being in an accident (knock wood) for 36 years.)

If I misread your reference to my screen name (which is actually Kevin), please disregard this post. :D
