I like the tight seam between the black rear panel and the red panel.
Good photo. You can definitely see the screw (bolt) heads sticking down -- This whole method of attachng the exhaust cover panel seems like prototypitis -- something that can and should be improved for the final production vehicle. For instance, those screw heads ought to be capped, or somehow kept from vibrating loose. And they should certainly be made of stainless, for obvious reasons. You don't want them rusting out, dropping out, or sticking out (as they do now).
Why wouldn't you post it again?

I don't mind the "bulge" at all . Makes for a cool custom look . I would even consider wrapping the bulge in carbon fiber or drilling spaced cutouts to show the exhaust pipe through the bulge . Either case , I will have to dress up the hole with a polished alum tip of sorts . For me, this is half the fun of buying the Elio .

If you zoom in on this photo you'll see that "cover" is molded part of the main body. Sorry no removal unless you want to cut it out. However I do like how "The Bulge" channels any gas spill away from the hot exhaust. https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=...CFBA1!5417&parId=66C8BD49AECFBA1!5393&o=OneUp
So, if there is no way to remove the exhaust pipe & muffler enclosure, how can those parts be replaced?
The picture (alone) does not indicate that the cover is not removable.
I doubt that the cover is a molded part of the finished body, because that would be more complicated and more expensive than simply creating a removable cover - not to mention providing (functional) access to parts commonly needing replacement.

Yes, I thought there may be bolt heads showing under there, but not clear enough to be certain. THANK you for your clarity.
Here is where I see what appears to be bolt heads (the rest is too fuzzy to see clearly). Yet as a mechanic specializing in old clunkers, by default (out of necessity), THIS is an area that is typically a first to rust out and very often the most deteriorated - so this stands out to me (from decades of experience).

Whoever posted this photo series on OneDrive - THANK YOU - very nice work, including many good memory perks (like the low shot of the "snout" with Jerome Vassallo's legs to the left and Paulio at the podium to the right).
Thanks again, you folks at the Auto Show are not only having your own fun time, you're relaying LOTS of it to us.

agree .... with the downward direction of the exhaust port, I doubt it will be highly visible for folks not laying on the ground looking up at it .... in addition, with the low ground clearance, I doubt there will be much room for an extension ....

Awesome pics! I agree...removable...but also "still" a prototype. Money-wise, it would seem less expensive to just mold the "bulge" into the complete side-panel.
Purely "guessing" here...not enough room under the hood for the Catalytic converter and the muffler so, betting the muffler ( and possibly a resonator) is also under the bulge. And the farther away you can put it from the engine, the quieter it will be.

The exhaust pipe goes along the side, inside a larger tunnel we're calling the bulge. In the image below I circled it in blue. The seam, or panel edge, is a dark line, which I marked with yellow arrows, starting where it appears, down to where it disappears.

Nice catch, Ari! Definitely looks removable (and makes perfect sense that it would be). Mine will have CF 'bulges' on both sides, and maybe a CF ducted hood if I get motivated! Kind of have to prove to Snick that I can make a lighter/stronger CF hood since I called him out on it last year...I really need to learn to keep my mouth shut.
