Now I can sleep at night. I don't have to lie in bed awake at 5am wondering how much I will pay for red paint :)

Nope, sleep easy dreaming about your new Elio!

But seriously myself, and several other members, did see the reports and were in Charlotte so we were able to follow up on those false reports. We believe someone mistook discussion on the interior color for the exterior color as the only standard interior color is black just like in the P4. :)

I did some research a few weeks ago with existing car makers, and looked at the number of colors available for certain random makes and models. There were anywhere from 5-10 colors available, and some colors did cost extra, anywhere from $220-$500.

Can we PLEASE get back to discussing the important stuff, such as which side of the vehicle the gas cap is on?? :D
My sources tell me there is no gas cap, just a small thimble that is filled with an eye dropper that has a funnel type hose directly dripping into the engine. Each Elio will come with a one ounce Mason jar to use as a gas reservoir to hang from a fake rear view mirror for infrequent refills..

But which side will the thimble be on ??? And on that mason jar,,, double duty depending on coontents?? Wonder what MPG could be achieved vs gasoline ???? :)
My source is busy right now offering advice to the Democrats and Republicans and to Lindsey Lohan and the Kardashians. I'll get with my source later but since the engine is under the hood, the thimble should be on the hood. Perhaps under a hood scoop? Known fact that "white lightning" can be used in cars.

being raised in the mountains of western NC, I can attest to that being a fact ..;).. unfortunately, being pure grain alcohol it played hell with the rubber gas hoses .... it was said that you could run it like crazy all night but come morning it could take a while to up and running .. :D

A small side trip before returning to our regular programs..

My racing partner and I forgot our fuel one night and didn't discover this until we were already at the track.
I took a couple of cans to the truckstop a few miles up the road. While there I was looking at what products they might have on the shelves that would bring the octane up to where the cars would be happy.
Well, a trucker comes in, starts filling up his two gallon coffee cup and asked how I was doing. I replied, well enough, but needed a bit of a kick for my race car.
Mr. Trucker says, well, come on out to the truck, perhaps I can help.
I made my purchases and as I walked out I saw Mr. Trucker standing by his truck, holding a mason jar, just a smilin'... He stated, "Let's put a bit in each can, I think it'll give you the boost you're looking for. But don't try to drink it." Then he laughed and started pouring.
Well, it smelled like rotten vegtables, to put it mildly, but it was free (thank you TRBL Trucking), and it was better than STP water evaporating additives.
I returned to the track, I added "fuel".
Now, we ran straight pipes out the right side of the cars. It looked and sounded cool, and it shot orange to red "puffs" of flame out to add the the excitement,,,,,,, normally that is..
Let us say, the cars "liked" this fuel! It took a quick adjustment to the carbs to balance things out a bit, and I DO believe we had more punch out of the corner! In addition, the nice orange to red "puffs", were suddenly blue to violet colored, foot long, iris binding, metal melting torches!!
One last unforgettable thing. My tea toter racing partner, ended up drunk of the fumes. :D Poor fella lasted exactly one race that night. Spent the rest of his time curled up in the back of my truck!
And now, the rest of the story. What fuel was left that night, spec'd out at a 104 octaine on my hydrometer. Not a bad addition to the 91 octane pump fuel we had to run that night. ;)

Oh, and my seat and steering wheel was black!! His car was light blue, mine was a yellow into gold blend!
