I recently got my reservation refund from Arcimoto. Didn't have to wait that long and was very courteous but just wanted to know why and I told them I would've considered owning one had they produced the base (cheaper) version that I signed up for from the beginning.

Arcimoto is definitely a customer service oriented team. I was disappointed in the missed $11,900 target too. However, I’m not surprised and understand why, since I didn’t believe Elio’s $6800, SOLO’s $15,900, or Sondor’s $10K marketing tactics. Arcimoto says production scale will lower the price over time and I doubt that too. Heck, Tesla’s targeted $35K Model 3 rollout was $45K+. They all start out offering the fully optioned vehicle to be as profitable as possible in the roll out. Even more critical for a new startup vehicle manufacturer that’s struggling with limited funding sources on the road to profitability. I’ve never purchased a base model car in my life. Arcimoto has 4 model options on the same platform and developing more, that will appeal to a wide range of market demographics: FUV, Deliverator, Rapid Responder, and the latest reveal the Roadster. Heck, the Roadster is a stripped down FUV and appears it will have a higher MSRP. The good news is Arcimoto has delivered 150 retail production FUVs to happy early adopter customers and is manufactured in Eugene, OR USA.

But............still no friggin doors! The prototype doors are taking longer than the prototype vehicle. :)

I hear ya Rickb. In all honesty, if the upcoming DELIVERATOR is priced at 19k like the Evergreen, I would rather consider that one because it looks more solid with more skin and doors...but will have them install the 2nd seat in place of cargo space which should be piece of cake for them as both models share the same platform. But reality dictates that the Deliverator will be more expensive as the price is still TBD which means more waiting.....

The FUV will have the same solid look as the Deliverator with doors popped on. I do like the idea of removable doors for open air rides on the nicest of days......the sides off rather than the top down ‘convertible’ option. The narrow see through roof really adds to the totally open feel:

....or they can have a totally enclosed version with roll down windows for total protection from the elements and it'll be a better version of an EV ELIO or the single seater SOLO!

You can say that again! :) The fully enclosed FUV option is the only reason I had interest in Arcimoto from the beginning. Unfortunately the doors were apparently easier to computer render on the vehicle than to actually prototype, thermoform, and pop real doors on the vehicle. I admit to compromising on half doors because it was so much fun to drive. I ass.u.me the upper half window providIng for full enclosure, will be available down the road.

The latest FUV delivery in Orange and Black looks good. It would look even better enclosed!
